It is also a great possibility to show your films in a unique place within the unique project: all selected films will make a closing night screening program of the non-commercial festival Tochka Dostupa. The screening is to take place on August 7 - open air in the picturesque historical centre of St Petersburg - by the St Michael's Castle.
We would like to note that this year's festival screenings are the beginning of the annual event in St Petersburg which aims to become one of the biggest art festivals, and we would be interested in mutual possible projects in the future as well.
The Festival is being organized with support of the Committee for Culture of St Petersburg.
Amal is a cultural film event of reference, held annually since 2003. Its first edition was conceived as an audiovisual showcase and, after its success, in 2005 it took a step further to become an international competitive festival; the first and only Euro-Arab Film Festival in Europe at that time. After twelve editions, it has once again become a competitive festival, leaving behind the character of an exhibition, aspiring to favour the synergies created between producers, filmmakers and the public. Thus, this 23rd edition will be made up of three competitive sections: 5 fiction films, 5 documentaries and 5 short films, with the aim of recognising the cinematographic talent of the participants in each of the competitive sections.
Any film, feature film or short film - documentary or fiction - of Arab production or co-production may be submitted. Films produced anywhere in the world that deal with themes related to the Arab world (made between 2022-2025) may also be submitted.
The Amal Euro-Arab Film Festival is an appointment with the social vindication, tolerance and concord of peoples. It has become a benchmark and has attracted spectators of all ages, generating a critical and current debate on the Arab world and its contribution to universal culture. In these two decades, Amal has grown in social commitment and has become a loudspeaker for people who need to be heard and for stories that need to be told. They all deserve to be in our memory. They all have a place in the common ground of our civilisation: tolerance. Amal is once again the great cultural bridge between East and West through documentaries and committed films.

In each version, FENAVID offers the public more than 150 screenings of feature films, short films, music videos and a series of audiovisual works that are exhibited free of charge for the public.
FENAVID always has first-rate guests. The event was attended by internationally renowned figures such as Celso Franco, protagonist of "7 boxes", Marisol Correa, Colombian actress, Alexandre Rodrigues and Leandro Firmino de Hora (protagonists of the acclaimed Brazilian film "Ciudad de Dios"), the Argentine producer Vanessa Ragone (winner of the Oscar for Best Foreign Film in 2010), Bolivian directors Marcos Loayza and Rodrigo Bellot and Argentine actress Aymará Rovera, to name a few.

Description
India is supposedly the only country to produce the most number of films every year when compared to any other country. India is a culturally rich country with a history of cinema that dates back to the July of 1896 with the show of Lumière films in Bombay (now Mumbai). 'The Wrestlers' (1899) by H. S. Bhatavdekar showing a wrestling match at the Hanging Gardens in Mumbai was the first film ever to be shot by an Indian. It was also the first Indian documentary film. The first full-length motion picture in India was produced by Dadasaheb Phalke. He is the pioneer of Indian cinema who brought together elements from Sanskrit epics to produce 'Raja Harishchandra' (1913), a silent film in Marathi. India’s first talkie is 'Alam Ara.' Gradually, the culture of cinema started growing at a fast pace, and in the Golden Age of Indian Cinema the art form touched new heights in the hands of Chetan Anand, Ritwik Ghatak, Satyajit Ray, Mrinal Sen, Mani Kaul, Adoor Gopalakrishnan, G. Aravindan, Girish Kasaravalli, Buddhadeb Dasgupta, Tarun Majumdar, Tapan Sinha, Guru Dutt, Raj Kapoor, Bimal Roy et al.
The present modern Indian cinema still holds the high position in the world arena because of a new breed of directors who experiment and portray reality in their own ways. Anurag Kashyap, Madhur Bhandarkar, Vishal Bhardwaj, Gautam Ghose, Aparna Sen, Kaushik Ganguly, Rituporno Ghosh, Mani Kaul, Kumar Shahani, Ketan Mehta, Govind Nihalani, Shyam Benegal, Mira Nair, Nagesh Kukunoor, Sudhir Mishra, Nandita Das, Homi Adajania, Sooni Taraporevala and others have carved a niche of their own.
Why Online?
Indian Peacock International Film Festival plans to give impetus to the new filmmakers and showcase their work online. As internet has taken the world by storm, hence is our online festival which is not limited by geographical boundaries and also not limited to only those who can afford to attend film festivals. Our online festival takes your film to every person using internet and your film gets a greater viewership than any physical festival. After all, every filmmaker must know that a film, be it a short or a feature, needs promotion to be heard and seen and appreciated. So, the more the number of viewers the easier it becomes to establish yourself as a filmmaker.
Founded by longtime residents and movie veterans alike, the Sherman Oaks Film Festival looks to showcase the best undiscovered movies in the heart of Los Angeles. The neighborhood that was home the mall in Fast Times At Ridgemont High deserves a world class film festival!
TV Series + Podcast Interviews
Filmmakers who receive Grand Jury Prizes, as well as several Official Selections, receive interviews on the "Discover Indie Film" podcast with head programmer Jeff Howard. This allows filmmakers to talk about their work and their history more extensively than a festival Q&A allows. In 2019 the TV series "Discover Indie Film" premiered on Amazon Prime Video. This series is an anthology of short films selected from the filmmakers he has interviewed on the podcast.
The Sherman Oaks Film Festival is proud to announce the Hollywood professionals who comprise our Board:
