FESTHOME is a new way of receiving film submissions (short and feature films) for film festivals, giving them the possibility to receive films online, view the screeners in high quality and facilitating the selection and reception of films from anywhere in the world. FESTHOME offers management for all this from our application: receive the films in your inbox, view the films submitted to your festival, have the ability to create several user accounts for your programmers, jurors, etc. and facilitate communication regarding rejection or acceptance of films received. You may use our Filters system to set the kind of films you want to receive if you so choose.

It is very simple: create an user administrators account with basic information from which you will be able to create your festival account (with advanced data such as rules for participation, festival sections/categories, submission start and end dates...). Once you have completed editing your festival information, our team will review it and, if everything is properly set-up, we will activate it for submissions right away.

Registering your festival in FESTHOME is fully free of charge.

Yes, you can. FESTHOME collects your festival entry registration fees at festhome.com, which implies a 10% charge on said fee.

FESTHOME will also ask film-makers to pay Festhome 2€ standard submission fee, which will be added to each festival entry registration fee. We offer the possibility of collecting said entry registration fee in one of two currencies: Euro-€ and U.S. Dollar-$). Festivals will be required to have a free of charge Paypal account https://www.paypal.com/uk/ to which FESTHOME will transfer their entry fees each month for the submissions received in the previous month.

Some special transactions such as currency exchange or fee reimbursements may be charged with an additional business fee. For further details, please go to Paypal business fees section.

The only requirements that FESTHOME will ask of you is to place our logo (which you can download from the FESTHOME website, from the Buttons and logos option) in a visible place at your festival website, that you include FESTHOME as a possible shipping method in your Rules and regulations and also that you make a communication to your contacts to offer them the possibility of submitting their films through our website. You are also required to watch all films submitted to your festival through our system.

First, you will need to access your user account. Once inside, you will encounter an inbox, in your dashboard page, with appearance and functionality similar to that of any e-mail server. There, you will find all films that have been sent to your festival. By clicking on any one title, you will be shown the film’s basic data and you can watch the film. By clicking on View film data in that card, you will be shown the complete registration data for that film and the user that submitted it.

Aside from viewing the screener, you will also have the option to download the film screeners sent to your festival, if they were submitted with a video file uploaded to FESTHOME as selected video, in the film full technical data you can access in your Inbox.Additionally, you may use the Request projection copy tool in order to ask selected filmmakers to upload for free a projection copy to our servers (one single video file that cannot be heavier than 20 GBS) which you will also be able to download for free.

FESTHOME offers filmmakers forms to enter quickly, fully and effectively all their data and and that of their film (spoken language, subtitles, production year, categories, genre, theme, production country or countries, synopsis in their own language and in English, selections and awards in other festivals, social media, link to the film trailer…). This data will be presented to the festival in one single page in its film reception inbox. Film-makers may also add their own content such as images (JPG, JPEG, PNG) and text (TXT, PDF, RTF, DOC, DOCX).

With FESTHOME you can change the selection status of the films. You can change from one status to another (ie. Selected, rejected, being studied, etc.). When filling your Festival’s information, you will find a field called ‘Communication Date’ in the Notifications tab. This field will allow you to pick a date you want for Festhome to automatically send a communication to filmmakers of ‘Not Selected’ to films with the status ‘Rejected’, ‘Being studied’, ‘Pre-Selected‘, ‘Viewed‘ and ‘Submitted’, and a ‘Selected’ notification to the films with the status ‘Selected’. When changing the status of each film, the status will not be automatically notified to the filmmaker. You can always change the Communication date if you so choose, several times if necessary, and you can also select whether you want this option to be active or not.

When submitting, all filmmakers will have to accept electronically your festival rules and regulations before final payment and submission are done.

FESTHOME gives filmmakers the opportunity to attach their authorization for their film screening in a signed text file (pdf, txt). Festivals may find this document among those uploaded by the film-makers themselves to each festival in each film full technical data, and can print or download them.

Once the festival account is created, this account shall be the administrator. From this account you can create other accounts for programmers, jury, and so on. To create these accounts, it will be necessary to use the email of the person who will be using the account, in order to send them the notification of registration.

An Administrator account will be able to access all submitted films and edit the festival as well. A Basic account will be able to access all films submitted or only those assigned to them, but they cannot edit the festival. A Press account will be able to watch films assigned to them, but they canniot change selection status, write comments, or rate those films, nor can they edit the festival.

Yes, all users (Basic and Administrator accounts) can write their views and comments of the films submitted to the festival, in an area for that purpose below the video display. Administrators can see the list of scores, ratings and comments per user.

When creating the festival, you can create as many sections/categories as your festival has, specifying in each of them the requirements and other detailed information about each section/category. Each section/category will be shown in the information that FESTHOME shows to filmmakers and they will be able to choose which sections/category to send their films to when making a submission. You may also change films sent to one section/category to a different one from your inbox. You can also set different submission filters for each section/category, as well as setting some general filters for all of them.

You will have to send us an email to help@festhome.com with the Subject: Delete Account, from the email you created the account with, clarifying your reasons for said deletion.

Two months after the festival took place, the information and films on the inbox will disappear and will not be able to be accessed. The information on the festival will remain, waiting to be modified for the next edition of the festival. To review the information for old editions, you have the Past Editions option, where you can access all data from films submitted in previous years, except the video files.

In order to create a new edition for any one festival, administrators simply must go to their festival Edit area and edit the festival with its new edition data (dates, rules and regulations, logo, banner, etc). Our team will review it and re-activate the festival for submissions right away. if everything is properly set-up.

A festival deadline ends at midnight (00:00) Central European Time, CET (UTC+1), Summer (DST) CEST (UTC+2), on the first day after the deadline date. At this time, the festival will disappear from the active festivala list and will be able to receive no more submissions.
