The Salento International Film Festival Is a celebration of films and filmmakers, promotes international independent films, in recognition of the fact that movies are the most powerful form of cultural communication and link between cultures' and peoples'.
Founded in 2004 by Luigi Campanile, the Salento International Film Festival emerged as a major cultural event and the top film festival in South Italy. Each year it introduces filmmakers worldwide to the Salento area's unique resources, while celebrating the history and future of the film industry with 5 days of world premieres, special events, seminars, feature films, short films, documentaries.
For the past few years SIFF has organized and run a world tour, taking the festival to international destinations like Zurich, London, Hong Kong, New York, Santiago del Cile, Moscow, San Petersburg, Oslo and more, presenting the “Best of the Fest” event. This gives SIFF the opportunity to showcase some of the best movies presented at the Festival to an international public, in prestigious locations such as Italian Cultural Institutes in the world and Cinema theatres, increasing the visibility and appreciation of such works which struggle to find a distribution channel.

The registration dates go from the publication of this call, until its closing, on July 7, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. (GMT-6) without any possibility of extension. Feature film works (from 60 minutes onwards) and short films (between 1 and less than 30 minutes in length) will be received through the Festhome platform exclusively.
Selected participants will be notified via email during the first or second week of August and they will be informed of the continuity of the process. The Committee's selection is final. By registering, all participants who are selected agree to send all the required materials in a timely manner, as detailed in the Regulations and as they will be requested from their notification until the closing of the ficmonterrey. The registration of any material in this call confirms the acceptance of it and the attached rules. The APOX film festival brings together international independent documentaries from around the world. All entries are promoted through our social media and website with a dedicated page with synopsis, film stills, and trailer.
For this purpose, we recommend that projects must be fully entered, including film stills, production pictures, downloadable posters, and trailers or teasers.
All projects officially selected in each season receive the Independent APOX Awards laurel and certificate.

By connecting with other festivals across Europe, we create an interesting cohesion of documentary film and share with each other the works that won awards at the festivals, and thus further promote and move borders, interstate and ensure greater and better representation.2021 concept is to promote young directors movies in the morning show, and top documentary movies in the evening show. We will present movies in a 7 day period, and we hope to have at least 80 movies. 2021 we will have 2 positions, 2 cinemas. And for 2021 we have prepared 4 prices, one for the best movie director of feature documentary movie od 1000,-EUR, best debut movie with the reward price of 700,-EUR, for best young director movie in the program Young director APOX fest will get a scholarship to up 2000,-EUR for a new film project or for schooling, and the best short documentary movie of 500,-EUR.
During the premiere and opening of the festival will be opened in cinema Mali Lošinj, the red carpet for VIP guests of the festival will be planned, and before the first film by the mayor and representatives of the Association will be presented the program of the Festival and all Logged on to the festival itself. All participants, viewers, and representatives will receive a specially designed festival program with a movie schedule and a short description of each film individually. For the purpose of the better presentation of the festival, a final concert will be organized at the end of the festival and the award ceremony on the stage in Veli Lošinj. It is also aimed at giving young directors an option to experience the thrill of making a film through film workshops and that the film's parents, as well as viewers, have the opportunity to see on the big canvas.

The 55th Annual WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival continues its totally dedicated Independent Film screening format for the upcoming April 20-24, 2022 unspooling. WorldFest will screen just 60-80 feature film premieres and over 130 Shorts with a total and absolute emphasis on the American and International Independent feature film and a continuing annual spotlight on award-winning short films and documentary films. Entries Officially Open Aug. 15, 2021. The EarlyBird Entry Deadline is Nov. 15th 2021 – A Mail-By/Enter By/Ship-By Deadline! Entries do not have to arrive by this deadline. The Main Entry Deadline is December 15, 2021. The Late Entry Deadline is Jan 15th 2022!

La GRAN pantalla is an intergenerational cinematographic meeting space that seeks to dismantle stereotypes about older people through cinema. It is an annual event, produced in a network, in several cities of the continent, which allows to display unpublished audiovisual productions, experimental or outside the industrial system and, in coordination, to contact non-traditional exhibition spaces generating a common grid and a fruit object / text of the collective Intelligence put into operation and manifestation.
This year the festival is not absent, we believe that it is more than ever necessary to maintain the premises for which the festival was created, understanding us as a counter-information tool, during these 14 years the dynamics of the festival has traveled unusual sites for what is understood as the official circuit of film festivals in conventional rooms for projections but in this way we have created walls, floors, cultural centers, neighborhoods, squares, streets, settlements, meeting spaces to see what is happening underneath the surface.

It is 16 years to accompany the under scene, this space that changes year after year, which takes new form when it is possible to see what is being filmed accompanying the new languages of this time. This experimental scene began to leave experiences that we were channeling in the conurbano, in the occupation and the promotion, in if in sharing, that nourished something that today is a few steps and that is one of the great objectives that has this edition 2024 .
we are already away from the commercial circuits or day-to-day broadcasting and we are looking for the construction of the cinema school in the Covi neighborhood of Solano, where we hold the film festival and believe that the TRECE will be a great kick for this experience that we support and we have been part since its inception.
ITINERANT
The productions chosen, will be part of the retrospective that we will be projecting in a route that will unite different points of Argentina.
The film festival will become itinerant.
Here we see cinema, we talk about cinema, we make cinema. We experiment with the form and structure of the festival, always. We want to rotate the transparency of the impeccable narratives. We are self-management, we have great reasons to criticize from a clear political position our sociocultural context of audiovisual production. We seek to see that which is hidden beyond the superficial, without red carpets.
Welcome to FirstCut, one of India’s biggest international festivals of student films organized by FLAME University, Pune! Set up to provide an active platform for young filmmakers all over the world, FirstCut encourages them to explore the medium of film as a potential agent of change.
In its 2023 edition, Firstcut received 380+ short films from students from over 40+ countries.
As part of the final event of FirstCut on 8th, 9th and 10th March, shortlisted works will be screened for a live audience and an eminent panel from the film industry. Screenings will be followed by a panel discussion with renowned film personalities as well as interesting talks.
We believe that freedom is essential for any creative work, and provide our participants with the complete freedom to choose their own themes and styles of work. While offering opportunities in fiction, animation and documentary filmmaking, FirstCut also has a unique “Nano” film a category that aims to challenge the students’ creativity to make super short films.
Winners from each category shall be awarded a certificate and a cash prize.
Submissions to FirstCut are FREE and do not
require a processing fee. Attending the event is FREE and open to all interested individuals.
