"This festival went above and beyond to deliver even during the COVID-19 pandemic. Though the LA Live screening was changed to private screenings, I still received a long feedback video that included thoughtful and detailed critiques from a diverse array of people. My cast and crew is super excited as well, as every department got a mention in the video! If you want to know what real film enthusiasts think of your film beyond your inner circle, submit here! Thank you to everyone who participated in the video."

-Hannah de Groot.

NOTE: This festival is still taking place each week despite the COVID-19 virus. All festival dates have been relegated to virtual screenings with the same Audience FEEDBACK videos made for the short films, and recorded script readings performed by professional actors for the screenplays.

As soon as it is safe for the cinemas to re-open, we will be shifting to weekly film festival events with guaranteed full crowds.

"I loved hearing all the different interpretations from the different audience members. Everyone comes to a screening with different backgrounds and history, and that all informs the way in which they receive and perceive a film; it was fascinating to me, and I thought everyone had very valuable things to say."

– Filmmaker Sarah Deakins (Greece)

The FEEDBACK Female Film Festival (FFFF) was created for women filmmakers and screenwriters. The goal is to showcase the best of female talent in film & TV from around the world.

MEXICO INTERNATIONAL LGBTQ+ FILM FESTIVAL 2022 (¡Goya Queer!)
www.goyaqueer.mx

October 26-30, 2022
CINE TONALÁ
_________________________________________

☆ CONCEPT—

The Mexico LGBTQ+ International Film Festival (¡Goya Queer!) is a nonprofit organization of general interest that CONNECTS WORLDWIDE FILMMAKERS [who make LGBTQ+ themed movies] WITH A WIDE AUDIENCE FROM CENTRAL & SOUTH AMERICA, while also fighting against homophobia and discriminations towards LGBTQ+ youth.

¡Goya Queer! is a cinematographic event also known as The Mexico LGBTQ+ International Film Festival, where talented directors from around the world come to Mexico City to present their work.

Indeed, we believe that art, culture, and films in particular, can help bring public awareness on sensitive matters such as love and its various forms of expression.

☆ PHYLOSOPHY—

The point is not so much to show "the latest films that have never been screened in another festival before" (even though most of our selection is both recent and exclusive).
LGBTQ+ films generally find their audience mainly in niche festivals [where the audience is mainly the LGBTQ+ community itself].
¡Goya Queer!, on the other hand, intends to offer to a wider audience some high-quality films [creatively, technically and intellectually], which will both captivate the viewers and help them to think out of a box.

Just as it is not necessary to be heterosexual to appreciate action movies, we are convinced that love stories (which are often at the center of LGBTQ+ cinema) are universal and speak to all communities, insofar as the characteristic of every human being is the desire to love and be loved.

We value creative expression and cultural diversity, yet we don’t agree with the term of “community” as specified by the general LGBTQ+ code.
We believe the world should be united, not divided into communities.
We appreciate dialogues and differing opinions, and we do not tolerate harassment, discrimination, or abusive behavior, such as offensive comments related to race, ethnicity, nationality, citizenship status, gender identity and/or expression, sexuality, physical appearance, religion, ability, age, or economic background.

Like the Dalai Lama XIV said “We will never make peace with ourselves if we can't be at peace with the world around us”.

Ras i Curt is the short film competition of Ullastrell (Western Valls). He first saw the light in 2018, with the aim of promoting audiovisual creation through the short film and its exhibition in Ullastrell. This 2022 we celebrate the 5th edition.

We think small places like Ullastrell, not because they are small, less rich in the knowledge and abilities of the people who inhabit it to generate culture. For this reason, through the audiovisual, a very transversal medium, the opportunity is given to both young people and adults from any place to be able to express themselves on the big screen, putting images, sound and the maximum creativity and quality that they are capable of.

From November 7 to December 14, 2022, the registration period opens to send short film proposals for the second edition of ras i Curt, with a maximum duration of 5 minutes. There are prizes for categories of up to 200 euros each, and one recognition for the best questioning and the best short poster design, each with a prize of 100 euros. The audience is and will be one of the pillars of this contest, and for this reason we give voice to your judgment to award the Audience Award, valued with 200 euros and with an annual subscription to Filmin.

We encourage anyone who has an idea to develop it, with the tools at their disposal. And to accompany those who need a push, we offer the Festival a program of 9 free training online workshops of themes that revolve around the short film. Registration is required through the online form as places are limited.

At the end of the deadline (14/12/2021), the jury, made up of five members of the audiovisual and artistic world, will deliberate the prizes among the short films presented that meet the bases. And it will be on Saturday, December 17 at 7 p.m. when the public screening of all the shorts and the corresponding subsequent awards ceremony will be made. This awards ceremony will take place in the Act Room of Ullastrell's Casal Cultural, and admission will be free - you can book a seat by www.ja.cat/entradesullastrell - or by picking them up for half an hour before starting the event at the Casal's locker. The ticket will be accompanied by a voting ticket for the public prize.

Ras i Curt is a festival organized by the City Council of Ullastrell and has the collaboration of the Provincial Council of Barcelona.

The 52nd edition of the Sehsüchte International Student Film Festival, one of the biggest film festivals for young filmmakers in Europe, will take place from 19th April until 23rd April 2023 in Potsdam. Founded in the 1970s as a showcase for young filmmakers in the GDR, Sehsüchte has established itself over the decades as an internationally important festival and has become an integral part of the Berlin and Brandenburg cultural landscape.

International up-and-coming filmmakers are offered a platform here to present their works and come into contact with a broad audience as well as the industry. Sehsüchte sees itself as a place of encounter and networking, as an event of cultural diversity and a celebration of cinema, today as well as tomorrow. Sehsüchte is planned, organized and implemented entirely by students of the Filmuniversität Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF. The direct connection to the renowned film university enables a unique exchange between young filmmakers, media practice and academia, which is the festival's special appeal.

new shores

The Sehsüchte Festival is setting out for new shores in 2023. As an integral part of Potsdam's cultural landscape and the state of Brandenburg, the festival will move out of the buildings of the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF and instead find itself in the heart of Potsdam. The new festival campus will reflect the cultural diversity of the state capital and at the same time bring international perspectives to Potsdam. Our identity and our programme are characterized by innovative films, fresh impulses and new perspectives that reflect current social and aesthetic discourses. Especially in a time marked by political crisis and social insecurity, Sehsüchte as an open-minded cultural event aims to create discursive spaces and to offer young filmmakers a platform to make themselves heard with their art. We see ourselves as a dynamic, young and courageous festival. Only by exploring unknown terrain, questioning existing structures and breaking out of patterns, space is created for new possibilities, for confrontation and inspiration.

We want to open and celebrate this space. We do not show the filmmakers of tomorrow, but of today. The future of film is now - is Sehsüchte.

Bašta Fest is an international short fiction film festival held in Bajina Bašta, Western Serbia. It is an annual event that is taking place during the first weekend of July and it lasts for four days. Due to the profession of the founders (actors Jovan Jelisavčić and Maja Šuša), the festival's main point of interest is a collaboration between directors and actors. We believe that focusing on the quality of that joint artistic effort will have a positive impact on the positioning of Bašta Fest among short film festivals. Bašta Fest is of great importance for the decentralization of culture since it has brought diverse film, music and off program to this beautiful region. One of the priorities of the festival is to promote the incredible natural beauty to a large number of visitors. Nevertheless, our primary goal is to convert this festival into an exciting cultural oasis, which supports local and international young artists, putting emphasis on short fiction films with authenticity. The main selection is a competition short film program, while two films are screened as a part of non-competition, special program every year - one during the opening and one during the closing ceremony. The last to be screened is a Serbian debut feature film, chosen by Bašta fest team as the most successful one in the previous year. The entrance to all screenings at Bašta is free of charge, while they are always being held under the open night skies. There are currently two official festival locations: Borići park and lake Perućac.
