The European Short Film Festival Villamayor de Cine emerged in 2008 in the picturesque village of Villamayor de Santiago, located in the province of Cuenca. Its main mission was to create a space where short films took a prominent place and young directors had the opportunity to shine.

This festival takes place annually during the month of August, in intense days where a team of over forty young professionals, under the direction of the festival's founder, Javier Alonso, tirelessly works to bring the best of short cinema to Villamayor de Santiago.

Renowned Spanish actor Jesús Guzmán was the Honorary President of this film event until his unfortunate passing in 2023. In his honor, the award for the best fiction short film bears his name, keeping his memory and legacy alive in the world of cinema.

The festival's host is Luis Mottola, a highly esteemed professional actor and presenter. His presence elevates the festival with his experience and talent. Mottola feels a profound affection for Villamayor, just as the town appreciates him. @luismottola

Oregon Scream Week Horror Film Festival

Oregon Scream Week is a Horror genre independent international film festival for Horror Films and Horror Comedy Films in Portland, Oregon. We had our first Oregon Scream Week Film Festival in February 2018 and it was a huge success. People travelled from China, Japan, South Korea, Canada and from all over the US to our screenings of 54 Horror Short Films. There is an appetite for films, especially in the Northwest, that make people scream, freak out and get their hearts racing. That is why we created Oregon Scream Week. Would you like to screen your film for an audience that appreciates horror films and other dark genres? Many of the “mainstream” festivals out there may not appreciate your film or screenplay in ways that our panel of twelve judges is looking for. Sick humor, twisted stories, psychotic thrillers and horrifying moments are our specialty. Is your film ready for a theatrical release in Portland, Oregon? Please take a look at our awards list, we have plenty of opportunities for the creativity of your film or screenplay to be acknowledged. Our website is full of pictures from the last event. Every screening was sold out for the main screen and on opening night required 2 screens running at the same time.

SIXTH SENSE HORROR FILM FESTIVAL

Welcome to fear-a-thon!

Are you geared up to gorge on a nerve-jangling glut of ferociousness, disconcerting shocks, and bestial enjoyment? Come, get onboard for a diabolically tense ride, as India’s First and Only Horror Short Film Festival is back with its second edition.

Sixth Sense Horror Short Film Festival, the brainchild of Shaunak Sirrole – a filmmaker, was conceived with the ambition to congregate all horror filmmakers from pole to pole under one haunted roof and provide them the dais to unmask their talent in a genre which is less explored in a country like India.

Last year, the writer of “Final Destination”, Mr. Jeffrey Reddick was the “Guest of Honor” and Mr. Apurva Asrani, National Award Winning Indian filmmaker (Best Editing for Snip!) was the “Chief Guest” of the event. In the inaugural year, we received an outstanding 250 entries from which we screened 50 best films selected by the esteemed panel.

Making a horror film is only half the battle, it still needs to get in front of an audience, and that’s where Sixth Sense Horror Short Film Festival enters the picture. The dream behind inducting this festival in India is not only to prop up Horror Genre, but also present an exceptional juncture for filmmakers to generate enough ballyhoo and eyeballs to get sold — optimistically to a distributor that can put an adequate amount of marketing moolah behind it to transform to box office returns and even awards season buzz. When a film gets selected for Sixth Sense Horror Short Film Festival, its chances of being brought by a distribution arm shoots up.

So, what are you waiting for? Tighten your seatbelts and indulge in a global fête of an adrenaline-fueled genre. Be afraid. Be very, very afraid. Welcome to fear-a-thon!
