The Addis International Film Festival (AIFF) is an annual film festival created by Initiative Africa in 2007 and held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The festival is the largest independent documentary cinema festival in Africa and it was established as a unique initiative seeking to use the power of documentary films to support innovative ways of creating awareness on social issues.
The festival is a celebratory and educational event showcasing a carefully curated selection of films from both seasoned and emerging filmmakers addressing a wide range of themes such as peace building, inequality, women empowerment, children's rights, and much more.
The 18th Edition of the Addis International Film Festival (AIFF). As Ethiopia's established social activist, Initiative Africa will be hosting a five-day documentary film festival starting May 15th to May 19th, 2024, bringing more than 30 local and international movies, under the themes of Action for Peace, Security, and Reconciliation, Gender Equality and Inclusivity, Food and Environmental Security, and Health Care which will be taking place at the Alliance Ethio-Française, Hager Fikir Theater, Goethe-Institut Äthiopien and Italian Cultural institute in Addis Ababa.

The Association 400 Colpi is a non-profit organization created with the aim of promoting films that, thanks to their language, style, story, and themes, are intended for both young and adult audiences.
vvfilmf is synonymous with film quality and represents a window into the youth world. It is not just a film festival. It's an experience. It's a significant cultural moment for young people that unites and cultivates.
Over the years, vvfilmf has created events that discover spaces for young people, workshops for the study of new forms of visual expression. #vvfilmf presents itself as an initiative aimed at the entire country and internationally, with the intention of meeting the expectations of both a young population and adult viewers.
The goal is to bring the general public closer to quality cinematic forms. Despite the festival's programming having a preferential audience of children, school-age youth, and university students, it enthusiastically opens its doors to adults and all those interested in cinematic art, fascinated by artistic and visual culture, passionate about education, pedagogy, educational fun, and simple entertainment.
The festival represents an excellent opportunity to showcase new educational paths, offering a constantly renewed program of cultural activities, and to propose, through the cinematic medium, respectful skills and fruitful reflections open to all school members.
vvfilmf boasts the High Patronage of the European Parliament, the Patronage of the Italian Council Presidency, the Ministry of Culture, Labor and Social Policies, Tourism, and almost all Italian Regions, many Provinces, and Municipalities.
Among the multi-year collaborations developed by #VVFILMF are those with RAI Cinema, the Foundation for Entertainment, and Lancia Europa, as well as with RAI Radio 2 and RAI Educational.
Thanks to the high quality of the film selection in competition and the professionalism demonstrated over the years, vvfilmf has been chosen by the President of the Biennale Foundation, Paolo Baratta, and the Director of the Venice International Film Festival, to select a group of young jurors and accompany them into the world of international cinema during the Venice International Film Festival.

Short Out is a film festival that has the ambition to represent a reflection's place on the issues crossing the suburbs.
Outskirts and suburbs: these are the themes of Short Out Festival.
The enhancement of peripheral spaces is a central topic to explore expanding territories and with the purpose of understand an urban context that invests in centralization.
In the margins lives an unexpressed or not yet explored artistic lymph and the desire is to bring it to light, starting from Lainate, on the edge of the metropolitan city of Milan.
The second edition of Short Out Festival will take place from Wednesday 3rd to Sunday 7th July, inside the natural spaces and courtyards of Villa Litta, emblem of the artistic, historical and cultural heritage of the city of Lainate.

The fourth edition of the Festival is defined as "social", that is, with the aim of enhancing the aggregation of all the protagonists of independent cinema and first works and the social values of cinema.
The fourth edition, like the third, can be defined as a GREEN FESTIVAL from all the following points of view, from Sustainable Mobility (the locations are always identified near subway and/or train stops, means that are suggested to guests, together with electric ones and the car sharing solution) to Sustainable Energy Consumption (in in-person locations the aim is to reduce energy consumption, reducing lighting to the bare minimum by setting the heating system to the minimum level of well-being), from the Printing of Materials (the digital format is favored for communication, information and promotion of the event or paper materials printed on recycled paper by FSC/PEFC certified suppliers and the prizes are made with organic materials extracted from corn grain or with natural and degradable glass fibres) to the Installations (they are made only with biodegradable materials , without specific references to the edition, to be able to reuse them in the future).
From Waste Management (separate collection of the same numerous collection points and easily recognizable and visible containers) to Guest Management (only digital train and subway tickets and Travelife or Green Globe certified hotels are offered), from Food Sustainability (DOCG wines at 0 km, water and drinks on tap, no food waste, seasonal products at 0 km, washable crockery and certified tissue paper napkins) to Environmental Culture and Social Sustainability (sponsors who share and support the sustainability values of the festival and suppliers equipped with a certified Environmental Management System, chosen locations free of architectural barriers and accessible to people with disabilities and specific needs, promotion of gender equality and full participation of all individuals and valorisation of the territory) to end with Training and Communication (staff adequately trained on environmental sustainability and on the conduct policies adopted by the management and communication of the environmental and eco-sustainable policies adopted by the festival).

HISTORY
Animation Nights New York was founded by Yvonne Grzenkowicz. On September 9, 2015, Little Water Radio invited us to use their old space at 207a Front St in the back of Fulton Stall Market for our premiere “NY Independents” screening. The program was curated by Yvonne Grzenkowicz (Animation Nights New York) and Robert Lyons (ASIFA East). We had about 45 attendees. We soon outgrew the space! (Thank you, Little Water Radio and Fulton Stall Market!)
Jan-April 2016 we were in residency with the Third Annual Out to See Festival at 192 Front St (Jan-Apr) in the South Street Seaport. We were the premiere event for this winter festival hosted by Little Water Radio and sponsored by the Howard Hughes Corporation. Animation Nights New York continued to grow.
In May 2016, Animation Nights New York relocated to the beautiful 180 Maiden Lane, New York, NY 10038 with support from Anderson Contemporary, MHP, Clarion Partners, and Maiden Lane Hospitality. We could finally accommodate our growing regular attendance!
Animation Nights New York now holds screening events around NYC. Besides 180 Maiden Lane, we’ve held screening events at the One World Trade Observatory, the Arts Brookfield Terrace at Brookfield Place, and The Gutter Spare Room in Williamsburg Brooklyn. We’ve held workshops and VR pop-up events at The Capitale and The Hideaway Seaport.
We’ve had over 11000 films submitted from all around the world. The work is beautiful and inspiring and the events have fostered a sense of community and exchange.
We’ve had tremendous support from ASIFA, NYC ACM SIGGRAPH, NYWIFT, Women in Animation, and the animation community at large. Animation Nights New York programs have included work by award winning animators such as Bill Plympton, George Griffin, Joanna Quinn, John Dilworth, Signe Baumane, Michael Sullivan, Dustin Grella, AthanassiosVakalis and Tiny Inventions among others.
Animation Nights New York had our First Annual ANNY Best of Fest on September 29-30, 2016. Our panel judges selected 20 films from the 200 screened Sept 2015-July 2016. The ANNY Best of Fest featured Animation Screenings, VR Animation Experiences, Art Installations, Industry Events, Artist Booths, and Professional Panels at 180 Maiden Lane and venues around the Seaport District of NYC.
Our goal is to strengthen the animation community and ensure filmmakers are rewarded for their efforts. We are looking to partner with companies who are naturally aligned with our mission to promote the arts. A huge thanks to everyone who helped us get this started.
Keep supporting independent animation. We hope to see you at our next event!
A horror film contest. Prizes include promotion on the Hollywood Investigator website, award plaques, screening at fan conventions (previous screenings at World Horror Con, Loscon, Tuscon.)

Film Making is an art and it needs more patience and determination to recreate your ideas to a motion picture. Films Festivals although are typically annual events, they acknowledge various genre of films, mostly from across the globe and encourage people engaged in cinema. They also provide an opportunity for unknown filmmakers to get their movies in front of a real live audience and to have their films reviewed by professional critics. Filmmakers whose movies get accepted into a festival also get valuable press attention and exposure to prospective agents and buyers, not to mention a sometimes sizeable cash award if they win.
From time immemorial, films have played a very important part in bringing people of varying backgrounds together and entertaining them. But, most of the times, the hard work behind making these fields go unnoticed and therefore film festivals started all over the world.
Venice Film Festival is the oldest one in the world, there are two other prestigious Film Festivals of Cannes and Berlin. Although the main crux came from international countries, India also has its very own set of Film Festivals in accordance to different states. Stating a few would be, Bangalore Film Festival 1996, Kolkata Film Festival 1995, Mumbai Film Festival 1990 and many more.
