The FENAVID International Film Festival is held annually in the city of Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Organized by the Audiovisual Foundation (FUNDAV), the Festival has become the most important film event in Bolivia and one of the most relevant in Latin America.

Since its first version, carried out in 2001, more than 10,000 audiovisual works from 30 countries have been presented at this meeting, which has transcended the borders of Bolivia and America.

In each version, FENAVID offers the public more than 150 screenings of feature films, short films, music videos and a series of audiovisual works that are exhibited free of charge for the public.

FENAVID always has first-rate guests. The event was attended by internationally renowned figures such as Celso Franco, protagonist of "7 boxes", Marisol Correa, Colombian actress, Alexandre Rodrigues and Leandro Firmino de Hora (protagonists of the acclaimed Brazilian film "Ciudad de Dios"), the Argentine producer Vanessa Ragone (winner of the Oscar for Best Foreign Film in 2010), Bolivian directors Marcos Loayza and Rodrigo Bellot and Argentine actress Aymará Rovera, to name a few.

Beyond glamor and film screenings, FENAVID is a macro meeting where producers, directors, actors, specialists and a whole multitude of people passionate about cinema converge.

During the days of its realization, the Festival has a series of parallel activities, such as children's film shows, video clip competition, workshops, talks, colloquia and debates.

One of the most anticipated events of FENAVID is the Santa Cruz 100X100 Film Production Meeting. It consists of bringing together 25 emerging film talents in Latin America. The chosen ones travel to Santa Cruz de la Sierra and, during the development of the festival, have the mission of producing a short film in 100 hours.

“ZERO cinema” is an artisanal and experimental artistic approach that contrasts the assembly line of industrial film production; it is hyper-independent, produced or auto-produced by single artists or small groups (less than 10 people) with no commercial interests; it is made with common and easily accessible, or innovative and low cost, means of production.

“ZERO cinema” has a different attitude, adventurous or poetic, DIY or punk, anarchic or self-sufficient, to the video work; it speaks with a personal, intimate, courageous and autonomous voice.

“ZERO cinema” is, more than any other thing, a strong idea of cinema and artistic production.

Making its second appearance at Whirled Cinema in London on Saturday November 11th (4-7pm), Noli Me Tangere is the festival for short films too experimental, too daring, too ‘amateur’ or simply too long for the mainstream circuit. Running an event every six months, we want to establish an independent network of our own that values cinema and creativity, outside of the corporatised events that have come to dominate the scene.

We are looking for short films that cannot exist within the framework of mainstream short film nights and festivals, for any of the reasons listed above.

We are currently looking to fill a roughly 2-hour long programme with a number of films; we want work in any length from 1 to 30 minutes.

The films will be screened before an invited audience of industry guests as well as the general public and fellow film-makers. The capacity for the venue is 60 people. Time permitting, you will be allowed a couple of minutes to introduce the work.

As this is a new event, we are not charging for submissions. All we ask is that you buy a ticket to attend (if possible!) if your film is accepted to help us cover the costs of booking the space and running the event and to contribute to future stagings.

From our next event we are running a social hang-out spot after the screening at the beautiful nearby bar CRAFT METROPOLIS, where like-minded filmmakers and fans can meet and form new fruitful friendships. The bar is only a 2 minute walk from the cinema.

If we’ve done our jobs right, people will know we are providing cutting edge cinema – but that won’t be the only reason they are coming. They are coming to be a part of something exciting, that stands for something.

We do not need DCPs or anything similar; all we ask is that you provide us a viewable copy of the film on whatever platform you choose or send us a copy via dropbox etc. If accepted, we will only require a clean, good quality MP4 or similar.

MALDITO FESTIVAL DE VIDEOPOESÍA is an international videopoetry contest that has been held in Albacete (Spain) since 2017.
MALDITO FESTIVAL launch this contest with the purpose to show two disciplines that, either individually or collectively, are much more isolated and forgotten as we would like. According to our experience, these disciplines are considered marginal and minor in the extent of the great European capitals, moreo-ver, in the humble towns within regional borders where its dissemination is nonexistent.

MALDITO seeks to vindicate video poetry as an art that connects people, transmits feelings and stimulates different ways to see the world. It is also a tiny contribution of enormous people to empower visual art, stopping it from being marginal and damned*.
(* The Spanish word for damned is MALDITO).

The festival is organized by non-profit Association Cultural Maldito; formed by a small team of professionals from the film industry, poetry and culture in general.

The MALDITO team, as lovers of poetry, image and the expressive possibilities of their symbiosis, we intend to promote their approach to the public, either with the events of the festival or with the educational activities that we carry out.

V NATIONAL RURAL FILM FESTIVAL OF AYACUCHO

The Rural Film Festival emerged in the city of Ayacucho in 2016 as an initiative from the Directorate of Culture to promote audiovisual production in our city.
Although the audiovisual work area belongs to the artistic sphere, it can also be applied according to educational, environmental, scientific, technological, political, business and commercial disciplines to give some examples.
Next, we list some of the central ideas, according to time and resources, that have been and will be developed within this space:
- Direction and general coordination of the Rural Film Festival.
- Boost and promotion of the movie theater and alternative projection spaces.
- Linking and cooperation between rural and urban schools.
- Generation of socio-educational projects in schools, institutes and training centers.
- Dictation of courses and training open to the community.
- Production of audiovisual content and resources for municipal offices.
- Production of local short films that cover fictional stories and social problems such as agroecology, environment, pesticides, rural work, gender violence, bullying and cyberbullying, addictions, abortion, school dropout, gender perspective, social inclusion, among others.
- Teacher training in all stages of audiovisual production.

We understand this as a way to promote local artistic-social production and reflection by virtue of promoting cultural pluralism and integrating our community.

TODOS SANTOS FILM FESTIVAL (FCTS)
For the last 19 years it has been the only focus of Latin American film culture with an emphasis on Mexican and local cinema, in Baja California Sur (BCS).

The FCTS has been distinguished by the high level of its artistic, social and educational content; its national and international prestige and its community mission throughout the region. The competitive sections are judged by international juries of great professional prestige. Its ability to attract the national and international press has resulted in the award given by HFP (HOLLYWOD FOREING PRESS- Golden Globes) for its hierarchical programming and its community mission. Our programming includes feature films, documentaries, short films, exclusive premieres and also winners at international and national festivals. The presence of prestigious professionals, actors, directors and producers who have been honored (Diego Luna, Dolores Heredia, Maria Novaro, Daniel Gimenez Cacho, Tenoch Huerta, Ana Serradilla, Damián Alcazar, Kuno Becker, Gerardo Taracena, Carlos Bolado, Celso Garcia, Luis Alberti, Arcelia Ramirez, Kenya Marquez among many others) has positioned our festival and carried a dignified cultural image of our state, opening the doors of BCS to film projects and giving it a privileged place in the concert of Film Festivals in Mexico and internationally. Its activities, including its Film School, provide opportunities for collective participation between communities and schools, enriching local culture, promoting education, creating audiences and stimulating creativity. The FCTS is the meeting point for filmmakers and viewers who are enriched by a constructive dialogue.
