Join the most popular IMDb-qualifying Monthly Festival in Europe !
+1.000 five star reviews, thousands of submissions from 150+ countries in the world.
Founded in Rome in 2018, in seven years the Prisma Awards has grown to become one of the most community-oriented festivals, hosting more than 400 filmmakers from all over the world and presenting films driven by the urgency to evoke emotions, by the desire to move people, films that bravely tell stories that deserve to be told — no matter the budget, no matter the culture, no matter the genre.
WE LOOK FOR MEANING. WE LOOK FOR UNITY. WE LOOK FOR BALANCE.
In the monthly film festival landscape, many events are unethical and non-transparent, charging filmmakers embarrassing entry fees without then committing to showing and promoting their work in the best way possible. We at the Prisma Awards work to reshape this system for the better.
We created an always improving stage-by-stage monthly festival that revolves around live screenings in Rome and with submission costs within reach of everyone (???????? ????????????'???? ???????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????? ???????????????????????????????????? ????????????????????????????????????????: ???????????????? ???? ???????????????????????? ????????????????????, ???????????????? ???????????????? ???????? ???????????????????????????????????????? ???????????? ???????????? 24 ???????????????????????????????????? ????????????????????????). In this way, first-time filmmakers and world-class talent can participate in a fair competition where everyone starts from the same line. In 2021, the festival came back live at Cinema Farnese, one of the most magical cinemas in Rome, where it currentyl holds its events.
Many of the films we’ve screened have passed through first-class festivals, like the short films ????????́???? by Gunnur Martinsdóttir Schlüter or ???????????????????????? ???????????? by Jasmin Tenucci , both winners of the Special Mention at Cannes Film Festival, or ???????????? ???????????????????????????????????? by João Gonzalez and ???????????????????????? ???????? ???????????????????????? by Leo Berne and Raphaël Rodriguez, both shortlisted in the Academy Awards, or ???????????????? ???????????????? by Lucía G. With the name Illusive Eye the optical process by which animation occurs in our brain by generating movement from the illusion produced by the rapid exposure to images in sequence is evoked. Animation offers the construction of credible universes, capable of freeing us from the limits of immediate reality.
With the coming of current communication technologies, animation has gained even more ground than it had in Film, Didactics and Videogames. Now, with the internet and the power of cell phones, mobile applications and the interconnection of devices and institutions with the network, animation has become an essential part of the language of interaction between the user and the world.
This audiovisual language has extended its discursive horizons as far as the human imagination reaches, and technically its evolution has allowed it to overcome reality by opening a fantastic vortex that provides immersive experiences and high doses of empathy as well as tons of fans of all ages and throughout the world, developing any theme with great aesthetic contributions and various levels of depth.
In honor of this abyss of creativity and as an invitation to immerse ourselves in it, this meeting space has been created for creators, scholars and amateurs. Looking to show not only its strength in the current film narrative but the presence of other types of speeches built on this means of visual expression: GIFs, memes, stickers, emoticons, headers, symbols for social networks, interface elements, banners, promotions , and any type of element generated from the illusion of an eye.
