Nuovi Mondi Film Festival is the SMALLEST MOUNTAIN FILM FESTIVAL IN THE WORLD.
It takes place in a very small village in the Southern Italian alps: Valloriate (Cuneo). Only 80 persons lives here.
Our challenge is to create an important cultural event with international guests, great films, meetings, art exhibitions that convince people to come up here, in the mountains, and serve as a development engine for these beautiful but abandoned "high lands".
Only by giving life back to abandoned places it is possible to think of a new ability to design, to imagine and to explore new identities, NEW WORLDS

The 2023 COMMFFEST will celebrate 18 years from September 14-22 2023 screening in movie theatres exhibition spaces, and ONLINE presented yearly by a group of dedicated volunteers. COMMFFEST a charitable corporation makes its home in one of Toronto’s most fast growing, economically diverse neighbourhood, Old Town Toronto, where many languages are spoken amongst an eclectic population.
Our screenplay competitions is spearheaded by 30 year filmmaker, writer, director and producer Vladimir Bondarenko who is an instructor at Toronto Film school,
COMMFFEST is a film festival that presents a broad range of local and international films representing current affairs and relevant issues that affect our society. COMMFFEST provides opportunities for emerging filmmakers, artists, musicians and global community stakeholders to express themselves freely and to connect with audiences on a more personal level. This unique blend of film, filmmakers and audiences creates a dynamic atmosphere to provoke thought and stimulate further understanding and exploration of ideas, attitudes, and emotions that can foster change – starting with the communities in which we live.
FILMS OF ANY GENRES ACCEPTED; independently produced films. Included in that mix are childrens issues, poverty, human rights LGBTQ, women's rights, third world struggles,
The last 18 years Commffest has built a valuable platform for introducing emerging and professional filmmakers to bring together communities, not for profit organizations with government officials in panel discussions to tackle pertinent issues often resulting in more funding and support for these groups.
Commffest is a cultural platform that strives to educate and create a hospitality environment where filmmakers and attendees can mix and mingle over food, drink and entertainment.

As an independent film-maker, you work often for a year or possibly years to direct, edit, produce a film and then comes the waiting game to be selected by a film festival.
COMMFFEST is more than a community film festival in Toronto; it is an art festival with a world perspective and I am most fortunate to have been part of the 2015 film festival programming with my documentary, "Forgotten". COMMFFEST's vision is to share stories that demonstrate the strength, struggles and beauty of humankind while providing a strong platform for independent film makers to showcase their perspective and vision of our world today and into the future. We need festivals like COMMFFEST who step away from the mainstream and champion works where the viewpoint is critical, enlightened or visionary in their approach to conflicts or issues that prevail throughout Toronto, Canada, North American and worldwide.
Behzad Sedghi Filmmaker
For me, COMMFFEST has been where my films have finally reached their maturity by connecting through the big screen with their audience. It is this connection that is essential for any artistic endeavour. As this may be the case with most other festivals, however, in my direct experience with COMMFFEST I clearly felt that each artist was given special attention, a chance to have a dialogue about their creation and ultimately was embraced in a celebration of their achievement. COMMFFEST founders and organizers are filled with the love of films and arts and clearly possess the vision and generosity to make this celebration happen every year. I look forward to being part of the next celebration either as an artist or a member of its community.
COMMFFEST mission statement:

"PUT YOUR CAMERA IN ACTION FOR HUMAN RIGHTS"
The Erronka Munduan (Challenge for the World) contest has a different profile than other traditional festivals. We do not have a deadline for audiovisual production, so we give entry to new productions but also others that are already outside the traditional distribution period of other festivals.
OUR OBJETIV is to put filmmakers into action with their contribution to spread messages that attract attention and try to provoke reactions in society that help change the world.
We know that among all filmmakers we have many "human rights" themed audiovisuals that have already had their distribution tour and are now sleeping openly published on YouTube and Vimeo. We want to give them a new life, recover them, to spread them as virally and massively as we can.

If selected, your film will be screened once in front of a live audience, many of them likely dressed up. No red carpet, no fancy websites, no extensive paid promotion, just word of mouth. You do get laurels for your film, you will have a receptive audience, an you will get to see any pictures we take at the event.
In addition, we also offer to host your film on our online platform for 24 hours. This will be an opting in offer, and we can geoblock your film any way you want us to. We will ask for donations on the platform, and any revenue from there will also go towards the Linn Benton Food Share.

A direct message from the Festival Director:
“There are always roadblocks in life and that’s what makes it so interesting, colorful, adventurous and lively. Often the roadblocks are like hidden new perspectives where we have the option to be upset or to think new and create something that later on will be awarded. It doesn’t matter if you’re a female or male director or writer. What only matters is that you’re a creative creator and you’re focused on your work.
Your life is in your own hands. You’re the creator of your life. Follow your mental intuition. Be aware and alert. Nourish your mental health with wisdom, not with doubts. Learn from disappointments and move on. Be mentally and emotionally focused and ready for the present. Love yourself.”

Therefore, similar to last year, the festival will feature in-person screenings of short and feature films.

Launched in 1980, our festival, the first of its category in South Korea, has grown and evolved from the Korean Short Film Festival, to become the Busan Asian Short Film Festival in 2000 and eventually the Busan International Short Film Festival in 2010 (www.bisff.org).
Taking place late April at the Busan Cinema Center, BISFF delivers a dozen awards in three competitive sections (International Competition, Korean Competition and Operation Kino) while also presenting several curated, non-competitive sections including: Guest Country, Korean Shorts, Asian Shorts, Prism, 3D Cinema, etc.
BISFF is a member of the Short Film Conference (http://shortfilmconference.com/) and of the NETPAC (Network for the Promotion of Asia Pacific Cinema https://netpacasia.org). In 2018, it became South Korea’s first Oscar®-qualifying festival.
The Incontrastable Film Festival is a space that promotes the dissemination of independent audiovisual works within the South American countries of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay and Venezuela. It also seeks to bring these independent productions closer to the general population, promoting critical cinema that contributes to the development of a much broader and more inclusive cinematographic culture.
