The first edition of the International Female Film Festival Petra will take place from 8 – 11 December 2022 at the The Cultural Centre of Belgrade Movie Theatre.

The Festival is established to celebrate women’s filmmaking, women authors and films exploring women’s topics. It will feature women directors from around the world and present feature and documentary films.

The special guest of this year’s Festival is Maria Lea Evarsdottir from Reykjavik, Iceland, a producer who has inspired the director, screenwriter and producer Natalija Avramović to make the first international female’s film festival in Serbia. Natalija took part at the Reykjavik’s RVK Feminist Film Festival, and inspired by the wonderful experiences from the country of ice and fire, decided to take this leap of faith.

The name PETRA symbolizes a strong woman who can do anything she sets her heart to. It originates from Ancient Greek „Πεтρα“ meaning rock, stone. In other words, Petra is a woman of stone, determined, firm, unflinching, a strong-willed woman, woman warrior.

In her debut feature film, SPRING POEM, Natalija named her leading protagonist Petra. This is an exceptional, original character, a woman of flesh and blood who, despite difficult circumstances, manages to rise out of the ashes and score a decisive victory, primarily over herself.

Natalija is preparing two other films about Petra, which will form a trilogy together with the Spring Poem. Each film creates a separate story and deals with different issues. The second feature film is an epic story about a fatal love, while the third one will bring us back to the roots of the fairy tale-like, but cruel childhood of Petra.

Onwards, to many years to come, with PETRA!

The Festival slogan – A WOMAN IS A SYMBOL OF A STRONG WOMAN

Published: 12 Apr 2022

Short films

Welcome to the third edition of Diminuto, Minimum International Film Festival, a celebration of short-term works.

Diminuto, comes from the Latin: extremely small. The minimal cinema is that tiny cinema, but immensely deep; brief, but extensive in possibilities; tiny, but capable of creating endless universes. Because we know that every second is important, this is a celebration of small short films, small projects that leave us with enormous emotions and diverse sensations. That is why we say that: The minimum cinema is the maximum.

In the last decade, the production of short-term cinematographic and audiovisual works has made the formats affordable for authors. The forms of short film production have been rethought, with the production of audiovisual and cinematographic content becoming more and more frequent, from mobile devices, tablets and compact cameras. Social networks, in turn, allow short works to have a space in the interest of viewers.

The third edition of Diminuto will be made up of seven categories in competition, in all categories we receive: fiction, documentary, fiction, animation, experimental and
hybrids.

Zero: Under 59 seconds
One: 1 minute
Fractal: Between 1 and 3 minutes
Silent: Short without dialogues, between 1 and 3minutes
Vertical: Vertical shorts, between 1 and 3minutes
Tik Shorts: Shorts made by Tik Tok, under 3 minutes
Spot: Spot, under 5 minutes
Cassette: Videoclip, between 1 and 5minutes
Wide: Shorts between 3 and 5 minutes
XL: Shorts between 5 and 8 minutes

We will also have the Alternative films, a non-competitive category that will be made up of works by emerging Mexican, Cuban and Venezuelan authors.

In this edition, it is contemplated that the works selected in the seven competing categories will be screened, scheduled and viewed in two modalities:

1. Screening of the official selection in at least two cultural spaces located in Mexico City. (As long as it is possible due to the sanitary conditions caused by COVID-19. If this is not possible, an online activity will be considered).
2. Programming in Wahu streaming, and MUAV, Museo Universal de Arte Virtual.

The winning works of each category in competition will be screened in a cultural venue in Paris, France. Place and date to be confirmed. (As long as it is possible due to the sanitary conditions caused by COVID-19. If this is not possible, an online activity will be considered).

The works selected in the Alternative Films will be scheduled in Wahu streaming, and MUAV, Museo Universal de Arte Virtual.

Complementary to the exhibitions, programming and visualizations, the workshops will be given: Short films, short formats (level 1 and 2), there will be talks and master classes with specialists in cinematography, these activities will be carried out online and in person*, they are planned for the attendees and the interested public, seeking to promote new authors. * (As long as it is possible due to the sanitary conditions caused by COVID-19. If this is not possible, it will be carried out online). Special online activities will be held for the authors of the winning short films in each category and the honorable mentions.

The Bogota International Documentary Film Festival (MIDBO), organized by Colombia’s Documentary Filmmakers Guild ALADOS, is a non-fiction cinema specialized event that throughout the last 23 years has been consolidated in Colombia and Latin America as a fundamental space of the exhibition, dialogue, and thinking around non-fiction audiovisual.

Regarding the 24 MIDBO, we would like to invite latin and iberoamerican filmmakers and producers to submit their audiovisual works in our 2022 call for films and to participate in the varied formative and debate spaces that will take place virtually and on-site throughout the festival.

24 MIDBO:
Emotion of the Real
Real Emotions

For the 24th edition of MIDBO we want to deeply explore Documentary from its capacity of generating and conveying emotions. Documentary emotion, in the sense of moving, but also of capturing the reality in movement.

This year we aim to challenge the idea of a format that communicates information, which is often understood as rational or analytical, and we seek to connect the documentary with various ways in which affection is expressed in the cinema of the real.

With this approach, we seek to dismantle prejudices and reduce distances around the format to communicate to broader audiences, as well as further develop these issues with specialized audiences. At the same time, aspects such as sound experimentation, music, and voice in documentaries will be essential in this call.

Recognizing the tradition of the Colombian documentary, we want to open the call to the affections generated by belonging to or displacement from the territory. We observe this affection for the land and nature from the number of transits and forced displacements that populations, communities and individuals make through it. The current environmental crisis in protected places of the planet, considered legal entities, relate this call to the thoughts of non-urban communities and in a global environment.

The special program Espejos continues with a series of films that show emerging cinema produced by collectives and communities or films that deal with social and political problems. In relation to the general call, in this section we seek to emphasize the consequences of climate change and the environmental crisis.

MIFF (from English acronym for Milan International Film Festival), nicknamed by the press as the "Milanese Sundance", has been recognized and distinguished as the official International Cinema exhibition festival of Milan. MIFF existed as a conventional film festival for 10 years, until 2010, when MIFF reinvented itself as MIFF Awards, a brand new genre in the sphere of film events that featured an avant-garde format pointed at the best of the best through a tough Winner category's selection.

An high recognition formula specifically designed to make independent filmmakers - and their films - more successful and marketable. A new and unique film event concept based on the traditional award "Nomination" categories selection format - originated by the Academy of Motion Picture, Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) or Oscar system, merged along with a traditional film festival of "only Winner category's" screenings program, to select a final Best Film of all.

Organized by the non-profit Italian cultural association Leonardo Da Vinci Film Society (LDVFS), MIFF Awards wIth its Independent Spirit Identity, it's an event studied for filmmakers/distributors who always necessitate to raise the prestige and the Media impact of their films.

NEFILTRAVANAE KINO is a film festival that is held by the Short Movie Club, the platform for cinematic projects.

NEFILTRAVANAE KINO is an exploration of aestheticization and commodification in art. The aim of the festival is to expose the complexity, manysidedness, and variety of filmmaking.

Originally the festival was held in Belarus, but because of political repression and publicly stated anti-war stance, screenings and events can be held in different countries. First of all Poland, Lithuania, and Georgia.

We involve theater, artists to interpret symbols and history. We work with the audience's reaction and participants' as well.

Before you read the festival philosophy and history, let know worth reasons to be part of NEFILTRAVANAE KINO:

CONSIDERATION AND SHOWING
Your film is placed greater focus on and given due consideration. The movie will be shown on state-of-the-art film projection equipment on the large screen at the cinema theatre.

THE AUDIENCE, CROWDFUNDING
the Short Movie Club audience reached an amount 70k of filmmakers, students of film schools, cinema lovers, and film industry members from all over the world http://shortmovie.club/mediazone/
the Short Movie Club helps with crowdfunding campaigns of our selected participants.
http://shortmovie.club/crowdfunding/

REVIEW, COMMENTS, FEEDBACK
An in-depth review of the best films will be published with IMDb rating. We compile comments of viewers, cinephiles and experts. We establish connections between the filmmaker and the audience.

PARTY — AFTERPARTY
Yes, a party every day. It is the main reason…
--------------------------------------------------------
The concept of the NEFILTRAVANAE KINO (Unfiltered Cinema):
ALIENATION PROBLEM
We live in a world of malls and cinema multiplexes. We see that indie cinema and non-commodity art go to the periphery of public attention. Primitive attractions replace the cinematography. The escape audience is alienated behind the big screen. So modern mainstream cinema is part of a manipulating tool that leads to the society of alienation. Thus the tendency is that indie cinema becomes more unreadable for the wide audience. We should understand the context of the filmmaker to understand the independent cinema. That is why the NEFILTRAVANAE KINO concept implies the physical presence of filmmakers.

FILM SELECTION PROBLEM
Filmmakers shoot millions of movies. And thousands of short film festivals organize screenings all over the world every year. On average, several thousand films are submitted to a film festival. So various good films can be neglected for whatever reason. Often selecting probability is like winning a lottery. As a result, filmmakers are left with no feedback. It is a paradox that no one can hear you in the age of the Internet! The mainstream culture prefers attractions and casual viewing.

Also, this idea is based on the film selection problem. Perhaps it’s no surprise one person, i.e. programme director at best, or even students of film schools make a preliminary decision to select a movie. Сoncordance of judges or previewers is more seldom thing than the difference of background, tastes. So selection or judging can be one-sided or perfunctory. It is not bad as the programme director has a good taste and aesthetic sensitivity, of course. But we’ve discovered another conception of “unfiltered cinema”. We matched it against “the best of the best” way. This way aids to perceive cinematic idiom without the dictate of art-curators.

CELEBRATION OF INDIE CINEMA
So the Unfiltered Cinema Film Festival tries to avoid “the best of the best” way but it does not ignore it completely, sure. The festival selects fiction, animation, documentary, experimental and virtual reality sections. A jury awards the best film in every section. The festival holds the screenings at cinema theatres, the National Centre for Contemporary Arts, and art-spaces.

Our aim is to gather people in art, to have a dialogue to be happy with smart communication. Cinema is art but not sport. The key point of our project is to establish communication between the filmmaker and the audience.

Please, read about the festival history through the link to the festival's website. http://shortmovie.club/history/

The project aims to provide building of Cinema-van mobile library amphibia https://www.behance.net/gallery/33392769/Cinema-van-Mobile-library-Amphibia
