We acclaim emerging directors, screenwriters and filmmakers from all over the world and amplify their work by bringing together a diverse audience to experience and reflect on it, and engage in further dialogue.
Our community exists at the intersection of a broader, more inclusive, cinematic gaze and the emergence of truly exceptional cinema.
If films are the content, Alfama is the form that sets the tone for the experiences we create. An architectural somatisation of intimacy, this is the scene in which we invite your films to make their appearance.
Our Story
in 2009 as an informal project to showcase independent cinema in the recondite alleys of Alfama, projected against its iconic stone walls.
In the following years, Cinalfama matured and became a competitive event of an international character, as well as a cultural reference in Lisbon.
The nature of the events has changed over the years, but the atmosphere, films and venues remain as intimate as they have always been.
Our Home
Founded in 1914, Grupo Sportivo Adicense is one of the oldest and most authentic remaining symbols of Alfama’s true soul.
World famous fado singers started their careers waiting tables at this historical institution – one that still stands in the face of constant change and mischaracterisation of the neighbourhood’s urban landscape
Screening Sessions
Tucked into the backstreets of Lisbon’s old town, Alfama, our intimate screenings take place in the city’s oldest cultural house, Grupo Sportivo Adicense.
We host three seasonal screening editions throughout the year, to showcase and award the best talent and films of each one. These are free entrance and all films have English subtitles.
Due to the current pandemic and associated restrictions, we have decided to host next January 2021 edition online, making available a selection of the very best films of the season. Aiming to have live screenings back real soon.

We have had our hand in producing comedy for over 15 years and this is not our first rodeo. In 2010 we began the Chicago Comedy Film Festival. After 9 years successfully running in Chicago we are expanding based on feedback that filmmakers want a strong comedy film festival in Los Angeles. As filmmakers and producers ourselves, we have produced short and feature films. We know how sacred it is to produce your own content and then ask a committee of people to review your work. We will be an inclusive, welcoming festival, and we promise to make your experience with us memorable. The Los Angeles Comedy Film Festival is a film festival for the comedy filmmaker. Awards for short animation, fiction, humor and made in Extremadura. We also have a public award.
International Festival with 20 editions and 1112 short films in competition in the 2019 edition and 865 short films in competition last year. Edition that could be held in person. Endowed with 4,200 euros in cash for prizes and 5 Extremadura Iberian hams that will delight the winners. It stands out for the large audience that attends the screenings and for using different squares and architectural spaces of special beauty as projection sites.
Cortomontagna prize is dedicated to short films with main theme Mountains live: that is the realization of a video that can express and narrate how the author live and interacts with the mountain environment, from the point of view that most represents him/her.
The theme has to be understood rather broadly. The them could cover, for example, video footage of skiing or mountaineers in action, footage of news reports, which are connected with the alpine or pre-alpine region, or event documentaries about the life stories of the community or of the mountain environments.
Everyone can take part in this competition.
The European European short film Villamayor de Film Festival! born in 2008 in the town of Villamayor de Santiago (Cuenca), giving shape to the dream to start a festival where the shorts are the protagonists, and young directors to make themselves known.
Villamayor de Film Festival! held on the third weekend of August, during intense days of work in which a team of young professionals is directed by the creator of the Festival, Javier Alonso.
The leading Spanish actor Jesús Guzmán is the President of honour of this Film Festival, which goes each year to deliver trophies of Villamayor de Cine!.

Equilibrium Studio Cinematografico is a Social Promotion Association based in Palermo, born with the intent to promote the development and diffusion of film culture, a passion shared by the members of our team. Seoul International ALT Cinema & media arts Festival (NeMaf) is the annual festival that shows media-based art with innovative spirit in its themes and forms.
The types of works we show include single-channel video arts, media arts, documentaries, found-footage films, essay films, experimental films, and so on. It takes place at multiple cinemas around Seoul.
It has been founded and showcased more than 2,000 media-based works and discovered 1,000 artists since it was founded in 2000.
NeMaf now opens for submissions and seeks innovative films and media art works.
Penitente Film Fest is the first Boyacense festival dedicated to genre cinema, emphasizing Sci-Fi, fantasy and terror. It was created as an alternative to the existing festivals in the department and in the country, whose focus is not so particular. From the organization, we believe that the genre cinema remains in force, with the same capacity to amaze, wonder, and unsettle us while transverse or parallel offers new ways to interpret and shape our reality and that of filmmakers around the world.

SEVIFF shares the mission of their associate festivals to celebrate and promote new productions and independent artists from around the world. Fiction, animation, documentary and experimental films of any genre and subject are welcome.
This is where we start, the dark side of movies, inspired by the legendary Pink Floyd’s album.
We start with the dark side, not visible to the naked eye, mysterious, obscure - a side with blurred boundaries and infinite nuances, where nothing is certain, precise, predetermined. Not visible rather than invisible, lying under the surface, or elsewhere, it’s something that can’t be simplified as it continuously alludes to deeper meanings. It’s the side of cinema that is never accommodating and always inquiring, making us question the meaning of what we see, listen, perceive.
If you look closely, you’ll see that there’s a dark side to everything. You find it in Brothers Grimm’s folk tales, in Fritz Lang’s fantastic and apocalyptic visions, in Stephen King’s archetypes of narrative fiction, in Stanley Kubrick’s unforgettable imagery, in Homer’s poems as in Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings epic. From the Holy Scriptures to Game of Thrones, the dark side is the driving force behind every art form and Ravenna Nightmare Film Fest is its cinematographic icon.

Golden Eye—is an international festival for movie and TV cameramen and camerawomen .
Festival’s main goal is to motivate cameramen and camerawomen and people in movie-TV industry, and support their professional development.
The International Festival of Golden Eye will cover the cost of flight and accommodation of the nominees.
Organized by the Brazilian Vegetarian Society, the event was launched in 2009, in the city of Curitiba, and aims to create a debate on animal rights and the socio-environmental impacts that the interaction of humans with other animals can bring.
The films are shown to the general public free of charge, and previous editions brought together renowned artists, environmentalists, activists, authorities, writers and, above all, admirers and defenders of animals.
Organized in Pérols, near Montpellier in Hérault, by the OVNI LANGUEDOC association during its annual congress on 22 ans 23 october 2022.
