Live Entertainment, LLC, Russia in co-operation with EVENT FILM, Canada proudly present an annual festival event – International Horror, Action and Fantastic Film Festival & Awards "DROP".
The festival is being annually held in the city of Moscow since the year 2011 and contains 4 events:
- opening screening
- closing awards ceremony
- master-class and Q&A with movie stars
- film festival competition program screenings in cinema theatres
The Awards ceremony takes place in a big concert venue (changing every year) and consists of the show program and the ceremony of granting awards which is divided into the following jury voting categories:
- awards granted to local film distribution companies for the blockbusters screened in cinema theatres of Russia in the reported year;
- awards granted to young directors and producers as competition program. The category is called “Hope for Survival”;
- awards granted to World stars for the contribution to horror genre
The Awards ceremony is always visited and recorded by a large number of mass media.
The Master-class is a so-called Q&A horror convention held in a cinema theatre in a form of a question-answer session between the star guests of the festival and the audience + autograph session. The event usually ends with a premier film screening.
The festival program is a week non-stop screening of new movies in several Moscow cinema theatres. The films-participants of the competition program are being selected by the festival’s jury. Submissions are being analysed and accepted by the festival's organization committee during the whole year.
The festival's schedule usually also contains a pre-party and an after-party arranged for the honored guests and winners.
The TV version of the festival is televised by Tricolor TV platform.
The festival specializes in all sub-genres of horror and action film industry, i.e.: cartoon horror, comedy horror, psychological thriller, trash horror, zombie horror, giallo, slasher, suspense, detective, action, fantasy, sci-fi etc. Starting from the year 2013 the festival also specializes in survival horror video games sphere.
The festival is annually visited in person by World-known honored guests. Um refúgio internacional para filmes que pretendem, tecnicamente ou com a trama, uma aproximação ao grande mistério da representação mundial, na arte e no homem. UM CINEMA POÉTICO DE CONTEMPLAÇÃO
Olhares de cineastas, em toda sua diversidade sociocultural, interessados em qualquer filme como resultado de descoberta pessoal, pesquisa ou experimentação, inspiração e trabalho, a partir da revelação ou introspecção dos autores. Cotidiano, êxtase e disparidade como estruturas para criar profundidade no tratamento cinematográfico.
ASCETISMO
O misticismo e o ascetismo na produção cinematográfica representam, provavelmente, um patrimônio mais absoluto em comparação com outros, porque um cinema com grande orçamento e maior complexidade técnica poderia ser feito, mas às vezes o filme mais humilde e simples é, no entanto, universal.
O ALAMBIQUE
Cinematografias impermanentes, da fotografia, do cinema 'amador' (do verbo francês aimer), definem diretores não apenas pelo que eles mostram e como o fazem na tela, mas pelo que decidem não mostrar.
FENOMENOLOGIA
O que aparece e desaparece, as topologias emergem, materiais ou conscientes, e sua invisibilidade ou posterior expiração. O ambiente sequencial do vazio, das matérias e do tempo. In March 2004 the 1st international short film festival for films by artists was held in Gstaad, Switzerland, with the ultimate prize being 'The Golden Cow of Gstaad'. For the organisers of Gstaad Film, the event was a great success: Many artists made use of the possibility to present their works at the festival & the quality of the program was high, attracting many films from Switzerland and entries from as far away as Argentina. The three days of the festival gave many possibilities for interesting contacts, not only for we the organisers, but also for a numerous and interested audience who were left excited, enthralled and enriched by the experience.
The positive reaction generated over the three-day period encouraged us to start organising a second festival. To improve the organisation and to give the participants/entrants more time, we decided to organise the festival in a two-year cycle, as a biennale.
O Mecal Pro, o Festival Internacional de Curtas-Metragens e Animação de Barcelona, celebrará sua 28ª edição. A longa história do MECAL PRO o consolidou como um dos festivais de curta-metragem mais importantes da Europa e do mundo, recebendo assim o apoio de instituições locais, nacionais e internacionais. Em 2025, exibimos mais de 300 curtas-metragens em 29 seções que programamos.
A Mecal está fortemente comprometida em promover a exibição e divulgação de criações audiovisuais em formato curto, não apenas com o público, mas também em fazer com que criadores e distribuidores se encontrem por meio de diferentes atividades. A Mecal também se dedica a promover talentos emergentes, realizando eventos e prêmios especialmente voltados para jovens criadores. Nesse sentido, também funciona como uma rede de divulgação de curtas-metragens, organizando exibições em nível nacional e internacional, colaborando com festivais, embaixadas e instituições em todo o mundo.
Le festival La Garenne\Tout Court propose un projet culturel unique dans les Hauts-de-Seine : une compétition de courts-métrages qui valorisent la création indépendante, française et européenne.
Le festival présentera donc trois sélections de courts-métrages.
La première sera composée de fictions réalisées sans le soutien du CNC ni des chaînes de télévision. Non pas que le festival s’inscrive contre ces sources de financement, mais nous ne voulons pas créer un énième festival où seraient exposés des films qui ont déjà une belle vie ailleurs.
La Garenne\Tout Court, c’est un espace de diffusion parallèle, dédié aux œuvres insolites, un soutien à la diffusion de films plus fragiles.
La deuxième aura pour ambition de faire découvrir des films originaux venus de toute l’Europe.
La troisième sélection aura pour objectif de sensibiliser le jeune public autour d’un ciné-p’tit déj.
Aucun genre n’est imposé, la seule contrainte déterminée à l’avance est celle de la durée : 15 minutes pour les sélections française et européenne et 10 minutes pour le ciné-p’tit déj.
Un comité de présélection composé de membres de l’association 2euxième Acte retiendra une trentaine de films. Les films sélectionnés devront répondre à des impératifs d’originalité, de qualités artistiques mais aussi techniques.
Le festival La Garenne\Tout Court est également un lieu de convergence entre les acteurs du monde cinématographique et un moment de rencontre privilégié et convivial avec le grand public.

The On-Line Festival presents films accepted into ALL categories – Drama, Comedy, Horror, Documentary, Animation and the local Three Counties competition. The On-Line Festival will be available for 3 weeks after the festival in Beeston.
The Beeston Oscar, or B’Oscar, is awarded to the best film in the following categories - Drama, Horror, Comedy, Documentary and Animation.
This year a new local competition has been created called Three Counties category, that is split into two sections: Long (up to 15 minutes); and Short (up to 5 minutes). Filmmakers from Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire ONLY with films in any genre can submit. The prize pool is amazing because we have teamed up with Matthew Martino Benevolent Fund (MMBF), a UK based international charity that supports filmmakers and actors, so as well as a B’Oscar there is
Three Counties Long - a MMBF Rising Star Award (£150 prize, mentoring plus physical award and other perks)
Three Counties Short - a MMBF Best Short Award (£50 prize and physical award).
Further prizes will be awarded for Best Director, Best Script, Best Cinematography, Best Acting Performance, Best Soundtrack & Sound Design and an Audience award, too. And, of course, there is a wonderful Best in Festival B’Oscar, too, designed by the renowned ceramic artist, Anna Collette Hunt.
