Fondata nel 2003, la LIAF mira a dissipare il malinteso popolare secondo cui l'animazione è solo cartoni animati per bambini, proiettando la più ampia gamma possibile di film attuali intelligenti, divertenti e provocatori provenienti da tutto il mondo, oltre a retrospettive e sessioni specializzate provenienti da paesi e animatori che normalmente non suscitano tale attenzione.
Il nostro Festival annuale di 10 giorni include anteprime di gala, retrospettive, domande e risposte con registi, workshop, voto del pubblico e proiezione del Best of the Festival.
The DC Shorts Film Festival showcases one of the largest collection of short films in the USA. In 2015, we screened 125 films from 26 countries in 17 unique showcases over 11 days to audiences of more than 9,000 people.
The festival has been named as the “Coolest Short Film Festival” by MovieMaker Magazine, and is a three-time winner of the Washington City Paper’s “Coolest Short Film Festival” contest/award. The 11-day event (September 8-18, 2016) includes film screenings, Q&As, filmmaker workshops and parties in locations throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area, and online through the secure DC Shorts Online Film Festival.
As we have done since 2003, after programming is announced, ALL ENTRANTS RECEIVE A REPORT WITH THE REVIEW COMMITTEE'S COMMENTS. We believe that filmmakers deserve to understand why their film or screenplay was selected or rejected — and what that process entails. Il Caostica International Short Film and Music Video Festival è stato riconosciuto dall'Accademia delle Arti e delle Scienze Cinematografiche di Spagna come festival qualificante nelle categorie dei cortometraggi per i premi Goya.
Premi: 6.500 euro (controlla il regolamento).
Caostica è un festival internazionale di cortometraggi e video musicali che si svolge a Bilbao (Paesi Baschi) con le seguenti sezioni: Videozinema (cortometraggi di finzione), Animazione e Videoclip (Video musicali).
Tutti i premi sono assegnati da una giuria professionale ad eccezione del Bizarre Prize. L'Associazione Caostica assegnerà il Premio Bizarre al partecipante che meglio rappresenterà lo spirito fresco, innovativo, eccentrico, irriverente, marziano, burlone, strano, rischioso, coraggioso e audace che caratterizza questo festival, indipendentemente dalla sezione in cui è iscritto. Il Festival è nato con una missione ben precisa: mira a stimolare l'attenzione del pubblico verso uno spazio rappresentativo aperto e ampio, come l'ambiente rurale, e fa delle sue proiezioni all'aperto, aperte a tutti, il miglior esponente. Giovani e adulti, generazioni separate da anni ed esperienze, si riuniscono attorno a uno schermo, che è al centro della luce di un passato e di un futuro: la cultura è senza tempo, la cultura unisce e il linguaggio cinematografico sarà il legame comune per temperare emozioni e sentimenti, custodire ricordi, provocare incontri vivaci.
In questo modo, tutti i partecipanti all'evento possono godere di un discorso eterogeneo e dinamico. Attraverso questo impulso culturale, le diverse correnti di creatività consentono agli spettatori di muoversi ed esplorare nuovi e vecchi codici in uno spazio pubblico, creando comunità.
Siamo un festival che promuove con forza il cinema sociale indipendente, quel cinema che racconta storie di persone, luoghi, condizioni e situazioni comuni alla maggior parte dell'umanità. In altre parole, storie di carne e sangue, sensibili e vere.
