The From the Root Screenwriting Residency, organized by Fundación Algo en Común, is aimed at screenwriters and filmmakers from Black, Afro-descendant, Raizal, Palenquero, Rrom, and Indigenous communities from Colombia, the Americas, and their diasporas. The program seeks to strengthen their voices and stories in the audiovisual field. Twenty fiction feature film projects will be selected. The residency will take place from September 1 to November 28, 2025, including virtual activities and a two-week immersion in Cali, Colombia. Participants will receive training in screenwriting, personalized mentoring, and support in project development. At the end, a networking session with the industry will be held to present the projects to producers and specialized audiences. Applications are open until July 27, 2025.

The Ventana Madrid 2025 call is open from July 4 to August 21, 2025 for audiovisual production companies based in the Madrid Region. Eligible applicants are either established companies with at least two works in the past five years or emerging companies with less than five years of activity.

Projects in development are welcome (feature films, series, documentaries, or other narrative formats) with international potential, seeking co‑production or funding. Applicants must submit a PDF dossier (up to 5 GB) and optional audiovisual materials through the online form on the official website.

Up to 20 companies will be selected to attend the market in Madrid from October 20 to 22, 2025, gaining personalized B2B meetings, networking opportunities, and international exposure. Registration is free.

EICTV and Televisión Serrana announce the Multiplatform Documentary Creation and Production Residency from October 5 to November 25, 2024. This 7-week residency takes place in Cuba, combining training at EICTV and community work in Sierra Maestra. It targets audiovisual creators interested in creative documentaries, community narratives, and ethical production. The program offers theoretical and practical training, mentored by Rodrigo Vázquez Salessi and the Televisión Serrana team. Participants will produce microdocumentaries and learn to film in conflict zones. Spanish proficiency, audiovisual experience, own equipment, and Cuban health insurance are required. The fee is €4,500, covering lodging, meals, transport, and full support. The call closes on July 1, 2024, with a limited intake of 10 international participants.
