Terra#LAB 2026 is an international film development laboratory that will take place in Pontevedra, Galicia, Spain, from December 8–11, 2026. The call for applications is open until June 30, 2026, and is aimed at filmmakers developing their first or second feature-length film.
The program accepts feature film projects in the writing, development, or pre-production stages. It welcomes a wide range of cinematic approaches, including fiction, documentary, animation, experimental works, essay films, and other feature-length formats. The call is international, allowing submissions from filmmakers worldwide.
Terra#LAB provides creative and professional mentoring designed to strengthen both the artistic and strategic dimensions of selected projects. The laboratory focuses on script development, project advancement, funding strategies, pre-production planning, and audience design. A minimum of seven projects will be selected, with particular attention given to women filmmakers and emerging directors, especially those under the age of 30. Selected participants receive support for travel and accommodation during the laboratory.

Ópera de Leyva: A space where the new Colombian cinema is born. Five first fiction feature film projects, selected by call, will have group workshops and personalized tutoring, with experts in project development, script, production, pitch and distribution.

Vanguardia 2025 is an international film project incubator organized from Guatemala by Casa Comal, the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Guatemala, and the Ícaro International Film Festival. It is aimed at Spanish-speaking producers, screenwriters, and directors with early-stage feature film projects (fiction, documentary, or animation). Training will be conducted virtually between July and August 2025, offering masterclasses and mentoring to strengthen project development, financing, and pitching skills. Participants will receive over 15 hours of training and have the opportunity to present a final pitch. One project will be selected to join the International Coproduction Meeting (EIC) at the Ícaro Market 2025. Registration is free, but participation costs $300 USD per selected project. Partial or full financial aid is available for eligible projects. The call is open until July 8, 2025, and results will be announced on July 11.

CUTTING-EDGE INCUBATOR
The JIIFF Lab 2026 call is aimed at director-producer duos from Ibero-America developing a fiction feature project. The lab will take place from January 27 to 31, 2026 in José Ignacio, Uruguay, as part of the Working JIIFF industry program.
Participants will receive personalized mentoring from international experts in areas such as directing, screenwriting, editing, and audience design, along with networking opportunities and a final project pitch before a jury.
Projects must be in development, with a maximum budget of US$ 1,500,000 and at least 25% secured financing. Directors and producers must meet minimum experience requirements in short or feature films and festival participation, as well as residency in Ibero-America.
Awards include the Fondo Pfeffer del Sur, offering US$ 50,000 for project development, and the Musitelli Award, providing US$ 50,000 in filming equipment in Uruguay. Submission deadlines are October 31 and December 12, 2025.

JIIFF LAB
The SGAE Foundation and the Sitges Festival are launching the first Josefina Molina Award for the best fantastic feature-length script written by women members of SGAE, to promote female visibility in the fantasy genre. The winner will receive €10,000. Eligible entries are original feature-length scripts in Spanish by female SGAE members of any nationality. The submission deadline is July 14, 2025, with materials to be emailed to iarmanda@fundacionsgae.org, including the script, registration form, synopsis, motivation, and proof of membership. The award will be announced during the 58th Sitges Festival, October 9–19, 2025, under the WomanInFan program. The prize honors Josefina Molina, a pioneer of Spanish fantastic cinema.
