FRANZI Shorts: From Script to Screen is an international short film screenwriting program based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The 2026 call accepts submissions from screenwriters worldwide and is open to any genre or style. Participants must submit a short film screenplay between 5 and 30 minutes or a detailed treatment of the story and its characters.

The final submission deadline for the 2026 edition is August 20, 2026. The 10 finalists will be announced on September 15, 2026, and the winning project on October 1, 2026. This latter date is also listed as the event date. The program includes one-on-one feedback sessions for the finalists and the full development and production of the winning project, including production, post-production, festival submissions, and distribution.

The Dream Makers Contest – Challenge #3 2026 is an international call organized by ESCAC (Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya) together with its partner institutions, aimed at supporting emerging filmmakers and promoting the creation and production of new cinematic projects. The contest focuses on fiction short film projects and will select one winning proposal for production.

Applications will be open from August 24 to August 31, 2026. The finalist projects will be announced during the 2026 Sitges Film Festival, while the winning project will be revealed at the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) in February 2027. The production of the winning short film is scheduled to take place between May and July 2027.

The call is open to international applicants and exclusively accepts fiction short films. It does not include documentaries, animation, feature films, or series. The program is a short film production contest rather than a pitch, laboratory, market, or work in progress initiative.

The Extremadura Film Residency is an international development lab for feature film projects in the development stage. The program is open to filmmakers from Spain, Extremadura, Portugal, and Ibero-America, accepting fiction, documentary, and animation projects. Over the course of one year, participants receive tailored mentoring, script and project development support, in-person residencies, online consultations, and access to industry activities, including participation in MAFIZ at the Málaga Film Festival and other professional events.

The 2026–2027 call for applications is open from July 1 to September 1, 2026. The residency program runs from November 2026 through November 2027, combining on-site sessions with online mentoring. The program is exclusively focused on feature-length projects in development and is designed to strengthen their creative vision while supporting financing, production planning, and international market positioning.

MIANIMA 5th Edition is a mentorship program focused on the incubation, development, and promotion of animation projects led by women from the Ibero-American region. Over a four-month period, selected participants receive masterclasses and personalized mentoring to strengthen their projects across key areas of the animation industry.

The call for applications is open from July 27 to September 2, 2026. The program will run from September 2026 through January 2027, concluding with the MIANIMA Pitch Day and the MIA Market in Madrid, where participants will present their projects, compete for awards, and take part in one-to-one meetings with leading animation industry professionals.

The program welcomes international applications from women across the Ibero-American community and accepts animated short films, feature films, and series, as well as MIANIMA Lite, a category created for student-led animation projects.
