Shortpitch is an activity aimed at the audiovisual short film industry. It is open to directors or production companies operating nationwide (Spain) with a project in the development or pre-production phase, including those that have previously received public and/or private funding.

Shortpitch - skylinefest
The IBF Classic call from the IDFA Bertha Fund targets filmmakers from selected countries in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Oceania working on creative documentaries. It aims to support projects in development, production, or post-production. The call primarily accepts feature-length documentaries, though some short films may qualify if they meet quality and country criteria. Series, interactive projects, or academic content are not eligible.
Applications for the 2026 round close on February 10, 2026. After review by experts and a selection committee, results are generally announced in April or May, at which point selected filmmakers receive funding. There is no formal award ceremony, but funded projects may be showcased at festivals or industry markets for visibility.

IBF Classic - IDFA
The Impact call from the Curaçao International Film Festival (CIFF) in collaboration with the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) aims to support filmmakers with fiction or documentary feature films in post-production. Its main goal is to provide professional and constructive feedback from international experts, helping to strengthen and complete projects for festival screenings and industry markets.
Filmmakers from the Caribbean, Mexico, Central and South America, including the diaspora, are eligible, with projects between 60 and 120 minutes in length. The call focuses on a Work in Progress format, offering direct guidance from industry professionals, private screenings, and opportunities for international exposure. Selected projects receive financial support and post-production services, as well as travel and accommodation for the filmmaker to attend the festival in Curaçao.
The submission deadline is February 10, 2026, and the selected projects will be presented during the festival on April 16 and 17, 2026.

Impact - FICM / CIFF
The Spanish Film Academy opens applications for its 2026 Summer Campus, a training program aimed at emerging and professional filmmakers worldwide. Applications are accepted from January 14 to February 11, 2026, and the program will take place from June 21 to July 4 in Valencia, Spain.
The campus functions as a creative and professional laboratory, focusing on mentoring, project development, and guidance in scriptwriting and directing actors. Fiction projects related to diversity are accepted, including feature films with completed scripts and fiction series with a developed pilot. The program is open internationally, allowing filmmakers from any country to apply.

Summer Campus – Film Academy
The ECAM Last Push program is part of the ECAM Forum 2026 in Madrid, Spain, and is aimed at feature films in the editing or post-production phase. Applications open on December 17, 2025, and close on February 12, 2026. This section is designed to help cinematic projects reach festivals, distribution channels, and international markets by connecting filmmakers with programmers, distributors, and sales agents.
The program accepts projects from any country and of any narrative genre, including fiction, documentary, animation, experimental, or hybrid works, provided they are feature-length films over 60 minutes in post-production. During the ECAM Forum, taking place from June 9 to 12, 2026, selected projects will have the chance to showcase their work to industry professionals, receive expert feedback, and gain international visibility opportunities.
