IV Screenwriting Residency - EICTV
Emergente! Cine Lab 2025 is now open for its ninth edition, aimed at emerging Spanish-speaking filmmakers developing their first or second professional short film. Projects in fiction, documentary, animation, or experimental genres are welcome, provided they are still in the development stage and have international co-production potential.
Applications must be submitted through Festhome with a modest entry fee, adapted for both individual professionals and production companies in Spain and abroad. A full script is mandatory, along with a dossier of up to 15 pages including synopsis, creative statement, production and financing proposal, schedule, budget, and distribution plan. Optional materials such as teasers, stills, or a video pitch are also accepted.
The program takes place online in October, followed by an in-person forum on November 4th and 5th in Madrid. Between six and twelve projects will be selected, with at least 50% reserved for those led by women. Selected teams will receive professional mentoring, pitch their projects to potential co-producers and industry stakeholders, and compete for cash prizes and international development opportunities.
