We are an independent festival dedicated to bring together established musicians and filmmakers in a forum to celebrate the short films. Dublin International Short Film and Music Festival celebrates the artistic, educational and historical importance of short films and music. It gives independent film artists a platform for sharing their work and creating a dialogue with the community. It promotes the discussion and study of filmmaking.
DISFMF is the largest independent short film festival in Ireland, in 2026 we are celebrating the 15th anniversary.
In 2025 we selected over 90 short films from all over the world, the festival has brought established, emerging and award-winning filmmakers to the public attention.
Back in the cinema, the festival took place at the Cineworld, the biggest cinema in Ireland and The Sugar Club for the awards ceremony night.
DISFMF is conducted from the independent film maker point of view.
Director and producer from each film selected will benefit free entry to all the venues and screenings.
All kinds of short films are accepted. The Mix Brasil Festival is an annual cultural event with a focus on films related to sexuality in its various forms of expression.
In 2020, an estimated audience of 176k people attended the screenings, theatre and music performances, conferences, and debates promoted in the festival's 28th annual edition.
Mix Brasil is held in November at prestigious movie theaters across São Paulo and takes full advantage of the diversity of the city to host a variety of innovative events. After São Paulo, Mix Brasil tours abridged programs to other Brazilian cities.
The event is carried out by the Associação Cultural Mix Brasil, a non-profit organization that seeks to promote the freedom of expression of sexual diversity by looking at new and different ways that this is achieved.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Festival Mix Brasil 2021’s edition will take place online, on a secure platform, with a limited number of attendees in each screening. If the guidelines of the local public agencies allow this the Festival may also take place in movie theaters.
It is thus concluded that your submission at Festival Mix Brasil / Festhome means that you agree that, if selected, the film will also be shown online.
Mal del Cap opens the call for entries for its XI International Short Film and New Narratives Festival
Ibiza, July 21, 2025.– The Ibizan cultural association Mal del Cap, Cultura Mal Dita has opened this Sunday the call for entries for short films to compete in the XI International Short Film and New Narratives Festival “Mal del Cap, Narratives Mal Dites”, which, on this occasion, will change its format and will take place between December 2025 and April 2026.
The submission period runs from July 21 to September 1, 2025, and is open to filmmakers from all over the world. Works must be submitted in digital format and can be fiction, documentary, or animation. Selected films will be screened during April 2026 in different cultural venues across the island.
“Once again, we are looking for bold stories and ways of storytelling that break the mold, works that connect with people and are not afraid to experiment,” says Pedro López, Vice President of Mal del Cap and co-director of the event. “This festival is an open space for free creativity, for sharing and networking among the most underground proposals on the international scene.”
Once again, this festival —which started in 2014 and is one of the longest-running in the Pityusic Islands— features several competitive sections that will award 1,000 euros in prizes across the different categories: the Official Short Film Competition Section, the Youth Short Film Competition Section –awarded by young students from Ibiza–, the Sebas Parra Award for the best socially themed short –courtesy of the association La Guerrilla Comunicacional from Girona–, the Malalt Award –reflecting the wildest spirit of the association–, the Best Short Film in Catalan Award, and the Audience Award.

The 15th version of the Festival has as its central theme ¨Community Cinema as a generator of Social Change and Progress¨, the jury prioritizes content that has this focus, however the reception of audiovisual pieces is not closed exclusively to said theme, for Therefore, other types of content will be widely accepted.
¨Community cinema is not only an art form, but also a powerful tool to promote fundamental values of a progressive society, such as gender equality, social justice and citizen participation. It facilitates debate, plurality and solidarity, and offers a means of expression for the different groups and identities that make up the social, cultural and identity fabric of Colombia, at local, regional and national levels. ¨
It is for this reason that the Comuna 13 Film and Video Festival, The Other History in its 2025 version has decided to generate spaces for dialogue and exchange of knowledge around community cinema, encouraging the participation of the most prominent groups in the country in this modality in order to share experiences, methodologies and knowledge with the academic sector of our city (Audiovisual creation network, technical media, peace schools among others)

Serving as Mumbai’s upcoming Premier Film Festival, the Cafe Irani Chaii International Film Festival (CICIFF) is founded to showcase Mumbai and Bollywood as the Biggest Film Industry across the world. Since 2009, the Puerto Rico Queer Filmfest is the first and largest LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer) themed festival in the Caribbean region. We are seeking out films from all over the world to be screened at the Festival’s Twelfth Edition in May 2024, as well as special screenings.

Some of the awarded films will also be screened at other international film festivals.

Screamfest® Horror Film Festival is the largest and longest running horror film festival in the United States. Paranormal Activity was discovered and premiered at the festival in 2007.

FICDOS was created in 2006 with Jane Chaplin as the guest of honor. It is a contest created for the appreciation, production, production and criticism of world cinema in the Eje Cafetero ("Landscape and cultural heritage of humanity" - UNESCO).
