The Jenkins-Del Toro Scholarship 2025 is open to Mexican nationals wishing to pursue a bachelor’s or master’s degree in film studies abroad. Applications are accepted from December 1, 2025, until 23:59 (GMT-6) on February 6, 2026. Candidates must submit an original film project (minimum 5-minute short or 45-minute feature), meet academic requirements, and demonstrate English proficiency. The award provides USD 60,000 per year (net) to cover tuition, housing, living expenses, international travel, medical insurance, and books/materials for the duration of study. Recipients must maintain strong academic performance and are selected by a professional committee and jury. The scholarship is awarded during the 41st Guadalajara International Film Festival, taking place April 17–25, 2026. This support enables the scholar to enroll in any qualified international institution of their choice.

It consists of an innovative workshop in Latin America, inspired by @jacksonwildorg's Jackson Wild Media Lab Festival, in which 12 scholarship recipients will learn from audiovisual industry leaders about science communication, audiovisual project realization and impact, and will be challenged to make a short film that will be presented within the festival.

DocsLab - DocsValencia
The Stockfish Writers Lab – The Whale is a screenwriting lab focused on narrative fiction projects for film and television. It is open to writers of any nationality who wish to develop feature films or series, providing professional mentorship, writing workshops, and pitch sessions in front of producers and commissioning editors.
Applications open on November 11, 2025, with an earlybird deadline on December 8, 2025, and a regular deadline on February 1, 2026. The lab will take place from March 22 to 25, 2026 in Reykjavík, Iceland, as part of the Stockfish Film Festival.
The program is designed for projects aiming to develop feature-length screenplays or TV pilots/series. Documentary projects or other non-narrative formats are not accepted. Selected participants will refine their stories with guidance from international mentors and gain valuable networking opportunities with industry professionals.

STOCKFISH - WRITERS LAB
The 21st International Producers’ Meeting – Fiction, part of Encuentros Cartagena 2026, will take place within the framework of the 65th Cartagena International Film Festival. It is aimed at Latin American feature-length fiction projects in development, offering professional support through mentorship, masterclasses, networking, and a final project pitch. The call is exclusively for fiction projects and does not include documentaries.
Applications are open from December 1, 2025, to January 18, 2026. The event will be held in two formats: virtual, from April 6 to 10, 2026, and in-person, from April 13 to 17, 2026, in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. This call welcomes participation from Latin American teams, aiming to strengthen the professional development and visibility of new feature-length fiction projects in the region. The focus of the meeting is on the film industry, emphasizing project development and networking opportunities for emerging producers.
