The aim of IBERSHORTS is to give international visibility to fiction and animation short films produced in Ibero-American countries (including Portugal and excluding Spain).

IBERSHORTS is organized by Festival de Málaga in collaboration with Festhome and seeks to strengthen cultural and cinematic ties between these regions, offering a privileged platform within one of the most important festivals in the Spanish and Latin American film scenes.

To achieve these objectives, IBERSHORTS will take place as part of Festival de Málaga, which will celebrate its 29th edition from March 6 to 15, 2026.

Launched in 1980, our festival, the first of its category in South Korea, has grown and evolved from the Korean Short Film Festival, to become the Busan Asian Short Film Festival in 2000 and eventually the Busan International Short Film Festival in 2010 (www.bisff.org).

Taking place late April at the Busan Cinema Center, BISFF delivers a dozen awards in three competitive sections (International Competition, Korean Competition and Operation Kino) while also presenting several curated, non-competitive sections including: Guest Country, Korean Shorts, Asian Shorts, Prism, 3D Cinema, etc.

Mecal Pro, the Barcelona International Short and Animation Film Festival, will celebrate its 28th edition. The long history of MECAL PRO has consolidated it as one of the most important short film festivals in Europe and the world, thus receiving the support of local, national and international institutions.
