THE FCM 2018 // MALLORCA FILM FESTIVAL // HAS A PURPOSE TO PROMOTE AND DIFFEREN THE CINEMATOGRAPHY OF THE NEW CREATORS, ESTABLISHING AS A PLACE OF ANNUAL ENCOUNTER FOR THE NEW INTERNATIONAL TALENTS OF FILM. A WEEK WHERE INDUSTRY, PUBLIC, AFFILIATES AND CRITICISM LIVE WITHIN A SELECTION OF THE BEST INTERNATIONAL FILM OF NEW CREATORS. STRENGTHS IN SPAIN OF THE GREAT FILMS OF THE AUTHOR FILM, THE PRESENCE OF A GOOD NUMBER OF EMERGING TALENTS, THE DEFENSE DECIDED BY THE YOUNGEST SPANISH FILM, THE SUPPORT OF BALEARIC FILM.

THE MAIN AXLE OF THE FESTIVAL IS COMPOSED OF SEVERAL COMPETITIVE SECTIONS OF FEATURES, DOCUMENTS AND SHORT FILMS. THE OTHER MAIN AXIS IS COMPOSED OF SPECIAL PROJECTIONS, DIFFERENT ARTISTIC NUMBERS AND MORE, WITH THE AIM OF PROVIDING A COMPLETE VISION OF THE CINEMATOGRAPHY OF THE NEW CREATORS.

THE FESTIVAL HAS ACTIVITIES EXTEND BEYOND THE FILMS. FROM THE ENCOUNTERS OF AUTHORS INVITED WITH THE PUBLIC, INTERVIEWS AND CONCERTS, THAT FAVOR A REAL EXCHANGE OF THE CITY WITH THE FESTIVAL.

It is recommended that the winners go to the gala, although there may be exceptions depending on the case.

BASES FILMS
IDEOLOGY
The ideology of the festival is aimed at new creators.

NEW CREATORS
That we understand by new creators. They are projects that are carried out by the executive directors of this project (in the case of feature films or documentaries of 3 festival presentations and in case of short films of 5 festival presentations) is considered one of their first projects or operates premium. It is not accepted any of the feature films in which the results of the three feature films and all those presented at festivals, nor any of the short films whose director made 5 or more short films and all present were presented at festivals.

AUDIENCE
People of all ages, the festival tries to reach the maximum possible audience.

THEMATIC
The theme of the shorts will be free. With regard to the theme chosen by the author, such as the environment, people, responsible consumption, defense of culture, life, cooperation, economy ...)

Value the image and the conception of a more personal vision.

Works with content of the apology of racism, sexism, xenophobia, or violence against the human being are not accepted.

PARTICIPANTS
ONLY NEW CREATORS MAY PARTICIPATE. They can participate in anything that they wish while they have more than 16 years in the point of fulfillment, of any nationality, as long as the feature films that are not recorded in Castilian or Catalan have added subtitles in one of these languages.

Each executive can submit a maximum of 2 short films, made after January 1, 2017
The festival reserves the right to publish in social and physical media for any purpose, for the organization.

CONDITIONS TO BE FULFILLED BY THE FEATURES
-The works presented have a minimum duration of 60 minutes and a maximum of 3 hours.

- The format of the recording can be any, but it must be presented in AVI, MP4 or MOV.

- It is valid any genre (fiction, animation, documentary ...) as long as it is owned by the author or producer.

- Feature films must have a minimum quality to be visualized.

SHORT FILM BASES

NEW CREATORS
That we understand by new creators. It is those projects that are made by a direct that this project (in the case of feature films or documentaries will be 3 presentations to festivals and in case of short films will be 5 presentations to festivals) is considered one of its first projects or operates premium. No feature film will be accepted, whose direct has made more than three feature films and all have been presented at festivals, nor any short film whose director has made 5 or more short films and all have been presented to festivals.

There will be no acceptance of works whose contents advocate racism, sexism, xenophobia, or violence against human beings.

PARTICIPANTS
ONLY NEW CREATORS MAY PARTICIPATE. Anyone who wants to be able to participate while he is over 16 or about to fulfill them, of any nationality can participate, as long as the feature films that are not recorded in Spanish or Catalan add subtitles in one of these languages.

Each direct can submit a maximum of 3 short films, made after January 1, 2017
