The SARDINIA FILM FESTIVAL intends to foster and exploit cinematography in particular independent production, encourage exchange and comparison between different artistic expressions, encourage young people to occupations of the cinematography.

1- Organization
The SARDINIA FILM FESTIVAL is organized by the CINECLUB SASSARI, with the support of public and private partners. The Sardinia Film Festival is one of the Italian festivals eligible for the preselection for Nastri d'Argento by the SNGCI (Sindacato Nazionale Giornalisti Cinematografici Italiani)

2-Date and length
The 14th Sardinia Film Festival will take place from June to July 2019 in Sardinia (Italy).
FESTIVAL DEADLINE: 20th FEBRUARY 2019.

3- Purposes
The SARDINIA FILM FESTIVAL aim is to promote and value cinema, especially European independent productions, foster exchange and confrontation between different art expressions, encourage and support youngsters to embrace cinema professions.

Entry requirements
Films already submitted to previous editions will not be accepted, even in a new version.

5) Fiction – Documentary – Animation – Experimental - Videoart
Films on any subject NEVER SHOWN IN SARDINIA with the maximum lenght of 30 minutes (titles included) are eligible. Films already submitted to previous editions are not accepted, even in a new version.

6) Scuola (sotto 18 anni) - (Domestic section)
Italian films, NEVER SHOWN IN SARDINIA produced by Italian schools of any kind and grade, public and private, or realized during cinema workshops hosted by public establishments. Maximum length: 10 minutes.

6 bis) School (over 18)
Works NEVER SHOWN IN SARDINIA and produced by Film schools and film workshops for students over 18. Maximum length: 30 minutes.

7) Back to the Land
Films NEVER SHOWN IN SARDINIA, about territories where the quality of life is tightly bound to agricultural products, where food, wine and all farming products are seen as important means for enhancing the territory, the culture and the tradition, support the elimination of barriers and prejudices, safeguard our health and our environment.

8) Vetrina ITALIA (Domestic section)
Italian films, NEVER SHOWN IN SARDINIA, no length limit, made from 2018 on. An expert will introduce the film and, after the screening, there will be a press conference and a meeting with the audience. Productions that can assure, during the debate, the director presence as well as one or two main actors, will be preferred.

9) SARDINIA SHOWCASE (only born, resident or be of Sardinian origins)
This section in open only to filmmakers born or resident in Sardinia or of Sardinian origins. The works must have never been shown in Sardinia.

10) Official language
Domestic section: Films must be in Italian, Sardinian in any variation, Tabarchin and Catalan. Therefore, all submitted works must be subtitled in English or in Italian.
International section: may compete films in any language as long as they are English or Italian subtitles.

11) Entry procedure
The submission to any section is free of charge
To participate, you must complete the form on the website www.sardiniafilmfestival.it following the procedure. By clicking the “SEND” button, the form will be sent automatically to the Direction of the Festival and to your email.

You must send,before 20th February 2019, a copy of the film without any kind of watermark in the video format H264 - 720p (1280x720) max 2 GB via WETRANSFER, VIMEO or other.

All films submitted will not be returned and will become part of the Cineclub Sassari/Mediateca archive.

The Commission, nominated by Cineclub Sassari, at its discretion, will select the works to screen to the public and those that will compete for awards.

12) Publication authorization
With the subscription of a Film, the holders of the rights authorize the Cineclub Sassari to use their work for the social, cultural and promotional purposes of the Cineclub Sassari. Catalog / Film Archive Room. They also authorize the inclusion of their own work in a "BEST OF SARDINIAFILMFESTIVAL - BOS" compilation, which will be used to promote the festival internationally. All films submitted will be included in the electronic catalog of the festival and may be seen by potential television or film distributors in our Archive Room.

14) Film screenings
Some of the films that will be screened during the festival can be as well out of competition. Dates and venues of the screenings will be advertised in the website of the festival www.sardiniafilmfestival.it
The list of the selected films will be also published online.

16) Accreditation
Although the entry to each screening is free, you need to book (accreditation) to have access to the Archive Room. There are two types of booking: Press Accreditation and Cultural-Professional Accreditation. To register for accreditation, please send an email to info@sardiniafilmfestival.it specifying your profession, the type of accreditation you are interested in, and your personal details.

17) Mailing List
All filmmakers that submitted a film and those who requested and obtained the accreditation will be kept updated with news about the Sardinia Film Festival. Whoever does not desire to receive our updates can send us an email with the object “Unsubscribe Mailing List” in order to be removed from our database.
