GREEN AWARD
10 international feature films of fiction, documentaries and animation, related to environmental and sustainability issues, will be selected to participate in a competition with numerous awards.
The films we will show will propose viable and concrete visions or examples of successful initiatives, always with the aim of instilling hope and promoting innovative initiatives that can contribute to improving the world.
The section MARATEALE IN GREEN will award the prize Champion of Sea and Earth (For commitment to the environment and sustainability).
IMPORTANT: Registration is approved only when the completed REGISTRATION FORM and a copy of the BANK TRANSFER are sent to maratealegreen@gmail.com. Details are in the regulation.

1. ORGANIZERS AND PROMOTERS
MARATEALE is organized by the Associazione Cinema Mediterraneo (https://www.marateale.com) and will be held at the amphitheater of the prestigious Santavenere Hotel and other locations in Maratea.
2. MARATEALE IN GREEN - ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Marateale in Green is a new section of the Marateale Festival that promotes environmental sustainability in accordance with the objectives set in the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Ten feature films with an environmental theme (animation, documentaries, fiction) will be selected to participate in the MARATEALE IN GREEN competition.
All submitted works must be recent productions, completed no earlier than January 1, 2023.
LOCATION — DATE
Marateale will take place in Maratea (Pz) from July 22-26, 2025.
3. JURY
The Festival management will appoint a Jury composed of personalities from the world of Cinema and Art.
4. LEGITIMATE REPRESENTATIVE
The person registering the film assumes the responsibility of being the legitimate representative authorized by all rights holders of the work. The declaration made by the person who signed the registration form therefore exempts the Associazione Cinema Mediterraneo from verifying the legitimacy of the registrant to enter the film, which will thus be considered confirmed, releasing it from any related responsibility.
5. REGISTRATION
The competition allows for the selection of national and international works produced after 01/01/2023 and created using any medium, as long as they deal with environmental themes and are unpublished in Italy.
Registration for the MARATEALE IN GREEN section can be completed by downloading the form from the website https://www.marateale.com and sending it in Word format to maratealegreen@gmail.com, no later than 06/15/2025. It is essential that the film submission via Vimeo link or any other digital format includes a password valid until 07/31/2025.
The deadline for registration submissions is 06/15/2025.

The DVD must also be received by 06/15/2025.
Films in the pre-selection phase must have no subtitles if the original version is in Italian; if the original language is different, they must include english or Italian subtitles.

6. SELECTED FILMS
The official selection of films will be announced by 07/01/2025. Subsequently, international distributors and/or producers must send the following materials by 07/08/2025: poster, brochure, press kit, synopsis, and DCP (high-resolution file via email).
7. HOSPITALITY
The organization will provide accommodation and meals for up to two people for the presentation of the selected films in the MARATEALE IN GREEN section. Priority will be given to directors and leading actors. Film screenings will take place at the Municipality of Maratea or another venue to be announced later.
8. awards
The MARATEALE IN GREEN section will feature the Champion of Sea and Earth Award (for commitment to the environment and sustainability).
9. GENERAL RULES
Registering a film in this section implies full and unconditional acceptance of these regulations.
Acceptance of participation in the competition and submission of materials grants the festival organizers a non-exclusive authorization to broadcast and make available to the public—through its website and any other known means—some sequences of the submitted works (max. 20 sec.), without claiming any compensation for the authors.
The submission of photographic and/or informational material (scene photos, author’s photo, biography and filmography, film synopsis, author’s statement, poster...) related to the film also implies non-exclusive authorization for the Festival organizers to disseminate and make available to the public—through publication in the official catalog and on the Festival's website, as well as through any other known means—images and information related to the submitted works.
Decisions regarding the awarding of works are final.
These regulations are drafted in both Italian and english. In case of interpretative issues, the Italian version shall prevail.
The Festival management may take decisions regarding matters not covered by these regulations.
For any legal disputes, the Court of Lagonegro shall have jurisdiction.
