REGISTRATIONS

Registrations will be formalized by the filmmakers, producers or their legal representatives.
Registration for the KIROLENE FILM is free of charge and will be done through this website and the FESTHOME platform.

The registration period will be open from September 1 to October 21, 2022.

Fill in the online registration form with the required data.

Send through www.wetransfer.com a compressed folder to kirolenefilm@kirolene.net. The folder will have the following components:



Name of the folder: name and two surnames of the person registered.

The high quality digital file of the short film: maximum length of the short film 7 minutes.

The high quality digital file of the teaser: duration of the teaser from 30 seconds to 1 minute.

Works whose language is not one of the two official languages of the Basque Autonomous Community, whatever the language of the original version, must be accompanied by subtitles in one of the two official languages of the Basque Autonomous Community: The dialogues will be subtitled or voice-over in Basque and/or Spanish.

The participant authorizes the use of extracts of the work presented on television, cinema or internet for the promotion of KIROLENE FILM FEST.
If the work is accepted, the pre-selection copy will become part of the historical archive of KIROLENE FILM and can be used for internal consultation or as promotion of KIROLENE. For any other use, authorization will be requested from the owners of the rights to be used.


GENERAL CONDITIONS

All works whose subject matter is related to the natural environment, modalities such as: skiing, snowboarding, mountaineering, climbing, mountain and adventure sports, mountain biking, diving, sailing, ecology, environment, ethnography... are eligible to participate.
Only productions made on or after January 1, 2020 will be eligible to compete in this edition.

Each participant may compete with more than one work, being an essential requirement to submit an online registration for each one.

The Evaluation Committee will make a preliminary selection of the short films and teasers that pass to the competition stage based on the rules stipulated by its management. KIROLENE FILM reserves the right to modify the program.

The participant guarantees that he/she is the owner of the intellectual property rights of the entered work. At the same time, he/she guarantees that there is no legal, contractual or any other limitation that could diminish the KIROLENE FILM organization's ability to publicly exhibit the work submitted. Likewise, he/she declares to have the pertinent authorizations from persons or entities owning rights over different elements appearing in the submitted work, music, images, graphics, etc... The entrant undertakes to hold the KIROLENE FILM organization harmless against any possible claims that may be filed by third parties regarding copyrights.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Short films must be digital files with the following recommended characteristics:


Video codec: H264
Frame size: 1920 x 1080
Standard audio format


PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL

Entries must be accompanied by 2 images of the film plus a teaser of the short film with a duration of no more than 30 seconds to 1 minute to be reproduced, published or exhibited for promotional purposes of the festival.

Preferred format: Digital, 300 dpi, jpeg or Tiff.

The photographs must be accompanied by the title of the film, location and credits of the author. The photographs of the selected works will be kept in the KIROLENE FILM archive.


OFFICIAL COMPETITIVE SECTION

Intended for films that meet the following requirements:
Duration equal to or less than 7 minutes, whose character privileges the sporting, and/or naturalistic, and/or aesthetic interest, and/or social, and/or comic and/or philosophical point of view of the above mentioned activities.

Provide a teaser of no more than 30 seconds to 1 minute for reproduction on Kirolene's social networks and for voting.


Enjoy KIROLENE FILM in Durango

Finalists are invited to enjoy and share the festival while having a special opportunity to meet with other top filmmakers and agents in the world of outdoor sports.
As special guests, finalists will be invited to present their film in person at the public screening in our theaters.
