The F.I.C.Y (International Film Festival of Yopal) is an event that will take place from October 13th to 16th, 2023 in the city of Yopal, located in the department of Casanare, Colombia. The main objective of this festival is to promote regional, national, and international film production and to strengthen the region as a center for the seventh art.

The festival aims to foster circular economy around audiovisual production, generating greater employment opportunities and economic development in the region. Additionally, the F.I.C.Y proposes new expressions of culture and folklore in the region, through the presentation of films that address themes related to identity and cultural diversity of the region.

The event will feature a varied program that includes screenings of national and international films, short films, documentaries, conferences, workshops, roundtable discussions, and cultural activities in general. There will also be competitions among filmmakers, with the aim of awarding the best audiovisual productions.

In summary, the F.I.C.Y is a film festival that seeks to promote audiovisual and cultural production in the Casanare region of Colombia, and contribute to its economic and social development.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the best works in each category.

Special mentions will also be given to outstanding works.

Objective:

The main objective of the Festival Internacional de Cine de Yopal (F.I.C.Y) is to promote regional, national, and international film production, and strengthen the region as a center for the seventh art. Additionally, it aims to promote a circular economy around audiovisual production and encourage new cultural and folk expressions in the region.

Venue:

The F.I.C.Y will take place in Yopal, Casanare, Colombia.

Duration:

The festival will last for four days, from October 13 to 16, 2023.

Program:

The festival program will include screenings of national and international films, short films, documentaries, conferences, workshops, round tables, and other cultural activities.

Competitions:

Film competitions will be held among festival participants, with the aim of awarding the best audiovisual productions.

Audience:

The festival is aimed at the general public, without age or gender restrictions.

"Route to the Festival" strategy:

The festival will have a strategy called "Route to the Festival," aimed at the rural student community, religious community, community of women heads of household, those displaced by violence, and people with disabilities.

Financing:

The F.I.C.Y will be financed with public and private resources, and with the collaboration of different organizations and institutions that join the project.

Organization:

The festival organization will be in the hands of an interdisciplinary team made up of experts in film, culture, and cultural management, who will ensure the quality and success of the event.

Categories:

Filmmakers, producers, and directors can submit their works in the following categories:

National and international feature films
National and international short films
National and international documentaries

Requirements:

The works must have been produced after January 1, 2019.

Filmmakers, producers, and directors can submit more than one work.

The works submitted must be in Spanish or with subtitles in Spanish.

Filmmakers, producers, and directors must present a synopsis and technical sheet of the work.

Submission:

Submission will be done through the festival's website, by completing the registration form and uploading the work to a streaming platform.

The deadline for submission is September 1, 2023.

Participation is free.

Selection:

A selection committee made up of experts in film will select the works that will participate in the festival.

Filmmakers, producers, and directors will be notified of the selection results by September 15, 2023, at the latest.

Awards:

Cash prizes will be awarded to the best works in each category.

Special mentions will also be given to outstanding works.

The festival is not responsible for any third-party claims related to the copyright of the submitted works.

Acceptance of the rules:
