Engativá is the third most populous locality in Bogotá; however, it is one of the least developed in terms of culture and cinema. There is talk of the cultural movements in Bosa, Kennedy, Ciudad Bolívar, and Suba, but Engativá is not mentioned. We are organizing this event to put the locality on the national and international map, with a large-scale event and outstanding films from around the world. Join us in making Engativá the epicenter of cinema in Bogotá and turning the Engativá International Film Festival into one of the country's most important film events.

1. DATE AND PLACE OF CONTEST: From 19 to 23 of March of 2024, in the city of Bogotá, Colombia.

2. DATE OF RECEPTION: From 8 of June until 15 of December of 2023, it will be split in Three deadlines; Early deadline (from 8 until 25 of June of 2023), Regular deadline (from 26 of June until 15 of November of 2023), and Late deadline (from 16 of November until 15 of December of 2023)

3. DATE OF NOTIFICATION OF OFFICIAL SELECTION AND LAUNCH OF THE FILM FESTIVAL: The notification of the selected films of the film festival will be the 15 of January of 2024 by Email. The launch of the Festival and the socialization of the Official Selection to the press and different media will be in February with the announcement of the allies, sponsors, screening site, partners, the official image, trailer and jury.

4. CATEGORIES AND COSTS OF CONTEST: The Film FESTIVAL will split in the next categories:
National Fiction Short Film: Fiction films between 1 and 30 minutes long, whether Live action or animated, free-themed, made in Colombia or by Colombians.
National Documentary Short Film: Documentary films between 1 and 30 minutes long, Live action or animated, free-themed, made in Colombia or by Colombians.
National Feature Film: Fiction or Documentary films longer than 60 minutes, whether Live action or animated, free-themed, made in Colombia or by Colombians
International Fiction Short Film: Fiction films between 1 and 30 minutes long, whether Live action or animated,free-themed, made by anyone in any country of the world.
International Documentary Short Film: Documentary films between 1 and 30 minutes long, Live action or animated, free-themed, made by anyone in any country of the world.
International Feature Film: Fiction or Documentary films longer than 60 minutes, whether Live action or animated, free-themed, made by anyone in any country of the world.
‘Engativá de Película’: Fiction or documentary film of any duration, technique or theme made in the town of Engativá*

*For local films, proof of their production in the locality will be required, whether these are videos or photographs from behind the scenes or certificates of residence in the locality, any film that is registered in this category and does not certify its production in Engativá will be disqualified automatically, without the right of reply or change of category by the curatorial team.

5. awards: The following awards will be given:
Best National Fiction Short Film
Best National Documentary Short Film
Best National Feature Film
Best International Fiction Short Film
Best International Documentary Short Film
Best International Feature Film
Best Local Film

These awards will have a trophy presented at the awards ceremony to the attending filmmakers. If the filmmaker is not present at the award ceremony, they will be responsible for the shipping costs.

Additionally, the jury will select the best film for the 'Grand Jury Prize' in both the short film and feature film categories. These winners will receive a cash prize to be determined in the future.

6. PARTICIPATING WORKS: Films from around the world are eligible to participate. If the film is in english or a language other than Spanish, subtitles in Spanish are required. If the film is in Spanish, no further requirements are needed. Only works from 2021 onwards will be accepted.

7. REGISTRATION: Applicants must register through FestHome and complete the corresponding registration. Films sent through any other means will not be accepted.

8. SUBMISSION OF WORKS: To submit works, the digital high-definition file of the film (.MOV or .MP4 in h.264 or h.265) must be uploaded to a virtual platform (Dropbox, PCloud, Google Drive, etc.) and the download link must be sent via email. The email should also include the document granting the FESTIVAL the right to exhibit the material.

9. RECOGNITION: Official recognitions (Official Selection certificates) will be awarded to the selected works in each category after the announcement. The corresponding laurels will be sent for Press kits and posters.

10. REQUIREMENTS: In addition to the high-quality video file, a basic Press Kit (Poster, 5 film stills, Banner, Director's photograph, Trailer) is required. If selected, the applicant must include the FESTIVAL laurels on the poster and banner.

11. PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS: By registering, the responsible parties of the films selected in the Official Selection agree to have their films screened in different activities during the 2024 edition of the FESTIVAL. They also agree to the use of image excerpts from the films for promotional purposes of the FESTIVAL through media outlets. The submitted material will not be returned and will become part of the FESTIVAL's archive. The FESTIVAL is not responsible for any possible copyright infringements, which are the responsibility of the person submitting the work. Shipping costs for submitting the works will be the participants' responsibility.

12. JURY: The jury will consist of specialized filmmakers from across the country or abroad. It will be announced in February 2024 during the festival launch, along with the official selection of the FESTIVAL. The jury will decide the winners of each main category and the 'Grand Jury Prize
