The “Corto Helvetico al Femminile” cultural association are planning the 7th edition of “Corto Helvetico al Femminile - Women’s International Short Film Festival in Tessin (Switzerland) from September 27th to 29th. The awards ceremony will be held on September 29th 2019.
The International “Corto Helvetico al Femminile” Short Film Festival offers an invitation for female directors around the world. The male attendance is not excluded if the Short Film shows the female world and a woman as a main character.

♦ The best short film of each category (fiction, documentary and
animation) will be awarded.
♦ The jury and the Festival Organization will be able to decide other
awards such as: audience award, special mentions, etc.

♦ The short films participating in this contest must only be related to
women as main characters, performing either as director or leading
actress.

♦ The allowed film genres are: Fiction, Documentary and Animation.

♦ Every film must be 15 minutes length maximum. The Festival
Direction reserves the right to allow films with a slightly greater
length.

♦ Every film sent to the festival must not have been completed before
2017.


Submissions

♦ There is a submission fee: $5 early bird (30th April), $10 regular deadline (31st May), $15 late deadline (30th June). Submissions after the 30th of June will not be considered.

♦ Every short film, except for the films in Italian or films without speech, must be subtitled either in Italiano, French or English. It is recommended for short films in Italian to be subtitled in French or English.


Jury

♦ The Festival Direction will select the jury panel, which will be made
up of professional people from the audiovisual industry, the art world
and culture.

♦ The jury decisions will be independent from the Festival
Organization and they cannot be questioned.

♦ The Festival Direction will be able to attend to the deliberations of the
jury; however, it will not have the right to vote.

♦ The members of the jury will not provide personal opinions in public
before the awards ceremony.


Awards
♦ The best short film of each category (fiction, documentary and
animation) will be awarded.

♦ The jury and the Festival Organization will be able to decide other
awards such as: audience award, special mentions, etc.

Clauses

♦ Any legal obligation concerning to the film content and copyrights
will be the participant’s responsibility exclusively.

♦ The Festival Organization will assume that the submitted films are
exempted from any artistic copyright or any copyright that belongs to
any other person.

♦ It is mandatory for participants to guarantee to the Corto Helvetico al
Femminile Organization the complete safety against any legal action.
The Corto Helvetico al Femminile Festival Organization will not be
considered responsible under any circumstances in case of complaints
(due to copyrights violations carried out by the participant). The
organization is exempted from any complaint and any legal
controversy.

♦ The Corto Helvetico al Femminile Organization, even when it is
extremely careful when receiving works, is exempted from any
responsibility in case of loss or damage of the material.

♦ The judgement of the Festival Direction will not be questioned during
the film selection process.


♦ In case of misinterpretation of this document, due to its translation in
other languages, the Italian version will be taken into account.

♦ By participating in this contest, it implies that the participant
completely agrees with the regulations written on this document.

♦ The Festival Direction reserves the right to decide everything that is
not explicitly specified, according to its own criteria.
