COMIC VIDEO is the first International Festival entirely devoted to comic short film (Pavia, Italy, September 18th to 20th). Free subscriptions are now open to filmmakers authors of Short-Com, Viral, Gags, Jokes and FREE theme. Awards for 5,000 euros and, for the first time in the history of such events, the subscribers have the opportunity to earn money and get in touch with the major sponsor on the market. Each candidate has the opportunity to shoot a viral for our sponsors who are really, seriously interested in the creativity of the filmmakers.

“VideoComic” Announcement


Art. 1) - Registration for the Festival

Creators without age limits from all over the world can join the Festival Video Comic, International Comic Video Festival, organized by Flipfly S.r.l. in Milan.


Art. 2) - Sections of the Festival

The Festival Video Comic offers the possibility of a registration that will be inserted, at the discretion of the organizers, into one of the following four sections:

SECTION 1
Short-Com: a brief story (14’ duration max), ironic, funny, brilliant with a final effect. It is a video with dialogues, prepared with a script. But it can also be a sketch, a comedy skit with a few actors and one location.

SECTION 2
Viral: it is a video that relies entirely on content that must be so robust and expresses an emotion so strong you immediately want to share it with a friend. It is an unstoppable video-virus but has nothing evil about it. It is a video that is fun, crazy, absurd, bizarre but irresistible, exciting, engaging and funny that lasts 2’ maximum.

SECTION 3
Gag: This section of the International Festival is dedicated to slapstick, or comedy skits that do not need words and which are based mainly on body language. They last a maximum of 2’.

SECTION 4
Candid Camera: It is the first time this type of entertainment is brought to the stage of the International Festival. The shootings should not exceed 14’.


Art. 3) - Type of works

- The actors, scripts, techniques of narration, realization and editing are independent.
- The works can be realized in any format, but must be delivered in compressed formats with English subtitles.
- The works will not be returned.
- Commercial, promotional, sponsored and industrial videos will not be allowed.
- Each creator may submit more than one work for one or more sections.
- All submitted works must be free from copyrights.
- The creators of the works must declare they do not infringe the rights of third parties as expressed by Law 633/1941 regarding copyrights, and assume all responsibilities for any damages from copyright infringement indemnifying Flipfly S.r.l., with the completion and sending in of the registration form and accepting the terms of conditions contained therein, from any compensation in this regard.


Art. 4) - Registration and how to participate
Registration is free and open to all.
Each submitted work must be registered.
The registration must be submitted by an adult in order to be valid.
The registration of a minor must be authorized by a parent or legal guardian.
The registration of each work must be completed by filling out the form on the site.
The submission of the required material should be made directly via our email: festival@videocomic.it.
We recommend using the upload service Festhome at https://www.festhome.com .
Together with the works the following documents must also be submitted in digital format:

- Registration form for the festival, which is a form that must be completed online, downloadable from the website www.VideoComic.it in the REGISTRATION section.
- Title of the work.
- Biofilmography of the creator and valid ID.
- Two photos of the director (up close and full-length) in digital format (jpeg/gif/png)
- Three still images taken from the video work entered in the competition.


Art. 5) - Disclaimer of responsibility

The company Flipfly S.r.l. disclaims any liability for any damage, theft, loss, or any other type of incident that material may subjected to during shipment or afterward. Registrations without the required documentation as stated in the application and those who do not meet the requirements will be excluded from the Festival.


Art. 6) - Disclosure of works

The works received may be used by the company Flipfly S.r.l., with the consent of the creators, for promotional, educational, cultural and informational use.

In particular, the company Flipfly S.r.l. is authorized by the creators to:

- Broadcast to the Jury, the Organization of the Festival and on the VideoComic website, by any means and on any digital support or non, all the works received that will always be specifically indicated by name and surname of the creator.
- Broadcast publicly by any means and on any support the short films, which will always be expressly indicated by name and surname of the creator, during the three days of the festival and on any other occasion or initiative decided by the company Flipfly S.r.l..
- In general, the company Flipfly is authorized by the creators, who will always be expressly indicated by name and surname, to duplicate and broadcast by any means and on any support images and sounds taken from the works presented at the Festival without limits of time and duration, and without having to give the creators any copyright and/or compensation, considering that the creators themselves will be largely and completely satisfied and rewarded from the
excellent promotion their works will receive thanks to their registrations with the Festival.


Art. 7) - Awards

The following prizes will be awarded:
1st Prize: Euro 2.500
2nd Prize: Euro 1.500
3rd Prize: Euro 500


Art. 8)

All the works submitted by the deadline will be reviewed by the company Flipfly S.r.l., which in its sole discretion will choose the short films to be attributed to the sections and then presented to the jury. It is also expected that any short films not admitted in the Festival but equally deserving of attention will be presented to the public in a dedicated area.


Art. 9) - The Jury, final phase, International Comic Festival Video

The jury of the festival will be made up of professionals from the world of entertainment and television. The names of the members of the jury will be published on www.videocomic.it.

The jury’s decision is considered final.
The preselections of the jury will conclude on May 10, while the descriptions, announcements and awards ceremony of the winners will be held during the three days of the International Comic Video Festival.

The winning short films, which will always be specifically presented by name and surname of the creator, will be published on the site www.videocomic.it and anywhere else by any means and on any support the International Comic Video Festival deems appropriate.


Art. 10) - Consent

The present regulation shall be considered accepted in its entirety in the act of registration at the International Comic Video Festival.

- Opening date for registration and submission of works: February 1, 2014.
- Closing date for registrations and submission of works: June 15, 2014.
- Tasks of the jury online: June 20 to August 20, 2014.
- Final jury vote: September 20, 2014.
- Presentation of the short films to public: September 18 - 20, 2014.
- Announcement of winners: September 20, 2014.
