VeCine - Social and community film festival, was born with the initiative of promoting the circulation and appreciation of short films of Colombian production with their public exhibition, sowing the seed of cultivating the viewer's gaze and strengthening the formation of audiences, decentralizing the vision of art in the city and circulating the works through vital spaces that allow listening, reflection and community participation of those stories that explore relevant social issues through audiovisuals.

Announcement

In this first version, the festival will be held in the south of the city of Bogotá, Colombia, between February 23 to March 3, 2024, with the support of the Scholarship for the strengthening of cultural and creative projects in the town of Tunjuelito - It's Local Culture Fourth Version.
Registration of audiovisual works for the competition and official selection will be open from Wednesday, January 10, 2024 to Wednesday, January 31, 2024 through the Google Forms registration form https://forms.gle/aNXM7KrhxWDxYME56

Participation categories

Film minutes / short films of 3 to a maximum of 20 minutes in length of any genre (fiction, documentary, animation and/or experimental) completed or released as of January 1, 2021, of Colombian production or directed by Colombian filmmakers / creators, can participate. in any of the following thematic selection categories:

• Conflict, memory, peace and/or reconciliation
• Women and gender.
• Environment and/or climate change.
• Stories of the territory. (Works made, produced or inspired in the town of Tunjuelito)
• Childhood and adolescence. (Works aimed at children: boys, girls and/or adolescents)

Recognitions

The registered works will be subjected to a selection process carried out by the team of judges, made up of professionals from the audiovisual sector. The sum of $400,000 (four hundred thousand Colombian pesos) will be awarded to the first place in each category and the sum of $250,000 (two hundred and fifty thousand Colombian pesos) to the second place in each category. All audiovisual works selected for screenings will receive a certification of participation and the respective official competition laurel.

1. Complete the registration of the works through the Google Forms https://forms.gle/aNXM7KrhxWDxYME56 from Wednesday, January 10, 2024 to Wednesday, January 31, 2024. No late registrations will be received. They must fill out all the information necessary for registration and upload a copy of the audiovisual works according to the parameters indicated in the form.

2. There is no premiere exclusivity, the registered works may have been completed or released as of January 1, 2021. However, the works must not be public on internet platforms such as YouTube, Vimeo, Daily Motion, etc.

3. The same producer, director or audiovisual collective may register more than one (1) short film, as long as they meet the requirements set forth in this document. Whoever registers must be over 18 years old.

4. The same short film can be entered in more than one thematic category, however, if it is a winner, it will only be able to receive financial recognition in a single category.

5. Short films not spoken in Spanish must have subtitles in this language.

6. The festival organization reserves the right to define the projection scenarios, as well as the days and hours of said activities. This information will be provided to the representatives of each work in the festival programming.

7. Those responsible for the works selected for the screenings must deliver a signed document transferring exhibition rights, which will be sent to the registered email after completing the selection process, as well as send a copy of the video through a transfer service. archive, according to the technical specifications defined by the festival.

8. The results of the selection process will be announced in the third week of February 2024. Those responsible for the films and all people linked to their production cannot make public information about their participation in the festival until the official announcement is made. for the festival.

9. Registration to the festival is free.

10. Registering the audiovisual work implies full acceptance of these rules. The festival may stop considering or withdraw from the programming at any time a short film that does not comply with the provisions of these rules or if any type of falsehood is proven in the information provided.
