Festival start: 15 April 2024      Festival end: 02 May 2024

The Áncash Film Festival is a space for exhibition, training and meeting of Ancashino audiovisual talent together with filmmakers from Peru and Latin America, which seeks to contribute to the development of the film and audiovisual industry in our territory.

We share a collective training proposal with a sense of belonging, promoting and strengthening the relationship of audiovisual creators with regional culture and identity.

We are a festival committed to the sustainability and equity of our society and its environment for the construction of a better world, being a festival with a focus on sustainable development (SDG). In this IV edition we are working hand in hand with SDG 13 Climate Action.

2 main prizes will be awarded:
"CLIMATE ACTION" Competition: Best Film Trophy + DCP Digital
“THE CINEMA THAT TRANSFORMS” Competition: Best Film Trophy + DCP Digital
Additionally, the jury (if it so decides) may award special mentions in: direction, cinematography, sound, editing, etc.

By sending their films, those responsible agree to own all the rights to them, exonerating the Festival from any responsibility that the exhibition generates. The requirements to participate in this third edition are:

CLIMATE ACTION COMPETITION (SDG 13)
Whose responsibility is it to prevent climate change? In whose hands does the ideal of conservation of our territory fall?
In this IV Áncash Film Festival “Climate Action”, we open this competition to audiovisual works that address SDG 13 Climate Action in their theme, considering the various actions carried out by individuals and/or groups to stop and prevent or reduce the harmful environmental effects that affect their territories as well as the consequences of climate change. The works may have been made anywhere in the world, with no limit on duration or genre. However, they must have been released since 2020. Works that are not in Spanish must have subtitles.

You must additionally attach:

- The poster or flyer of the work
- Brief synopsis (maximum 500 characters)
- Four (4) Frames or stills
- A 20 second clip from the movie
- SRT subtitle file (if available)
- Photograph of the director

THE CINEMA THAT TRANSFORMS (COMPETITION OF ALL THE SDGs)
Is it possible to build a more balanced world for new generations? In recent years, gaps in the economic, social and environmental spheres have become more evident. The audiovisual works of this generation are a record, voice and denunciation of the stories and problems in our various territories.

We inaugurate the permanent competition of the Áncash Film Festival with this category open to films that address in their theme any of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the 2023 agenda (www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/es/objetivos-de -sustainable-development/) The works may have been made anywhere in the world, with no limit on duration or genre. However, they must have been released after 2020. If possible, you must specify which SDG it belongs to. Works that are not in Spanish must have subtitles.

- The poster or flyer of the work
- Brief synopsis (maximum 500 characters)
- Four (4) Frames or stills
- A 20 second clip from the movie
- SRT subtitle file (if available)
- Photograph of the director

PLANET AXIS (NON-COMPETITIVE SECTION)
This category seeks to be a historical review of Peruvian filmography about caring for the planet. How much impact have they had on their environment since they were made? How useful are these movies? The works may have been made anywhere in Peru or made by a Peruvian director, with no limit on duration or genre or year of production.

(These works will be part of the Festival, but will be exhibited on a traveling basis on various dates, accompanied by other activities)
