When and Where:

- The first edition of the Vive Soundtrack Festival will take place through digital platforms on our official Youtube and Facebook channels on May 6th at 20.30.

- Our physical-live edition will take place in November 2022, venue and date to be confirmed in the Metropolitan Region. This schedule is subject to health regulations due to the contingency.

- Our jury will be made up of professionals from the world of film, criticism, communication, music and teaching.

- The jury's decision for the official short film competition will be final.

- The jury of our festival is committed to awarding the following prizes:

● FIC Vive Award for the Best Science Fiction Short Film (200 USD + Trophy + Diploma).
● FIC Vive Award to the Short Film with the Best Soundtrack (200 USD + Trophy + Diploma).

- The results and prizes will be awarded at the closing ceremony of the Festival.

- In this first edition there will only be 2 winning short films in each category, and they will be officially broadcasted before the main film in our first on-site live editions.

1 - Conditions of participation

- For the 2022 call for entries, the competition is open to all short films in the following categories: Science Fiction and Original Soundtrack.

- The call for entries is open to short films of any nationality. If the film is not in Spanish, it must be accompanied by subtitles.

- There is no age limit for participation.

- The maximum length is 30 minutes (including credits).

- All short films produced from 1 January 2019 onwards are eligible to participate.

-Format and codec: Quicktime or Mp4 (MPEG4-AVC / H.264) Frame size FullHD: 1920x1080 (square pixels).
Aspect: 16/9, if your film has any other aspect ratio, please send the adjusted projection file.
16/9 format with letter or pillar boxes
4Picture transfer rate of at least 30000 Kbps CBR Audio PCM or AAC Stereo 48Khz (no surround formats).

- You can enter as many films as you wish, with no limit to the number of films per director, producer or other member of the team. Each entry must be made individually.

- This call for entries does not require a premiere. The short films may have been previously published on the internet or in other film festivals, both national and foreign.

2 - deadline for entries:
deadline: May 31st, 2022 until 23:59 PM.

- IMPORTANT: If you are a distributor, please contact us before submitting your work.

- The means of registration will be exclusively through the FESTHOME platform. Other forms of submission will not be accepted.

- The short films will be evaluated according to the two categories of this version; SCIENCE FICTION and ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK. Works that do not meet these requirements will be eliminated from the competition.

3 - Selection process:

- The selection of works to be screened for the official competition will be Science Fiction short films and Original Soundtrack.

- Once selected, participants will be contacted by the organisation through the email address they used to apply.

- Short films officially selected with the notification by e-mail cannot be withdrawn from the competition.

- To apply, short films must be submitted with the following characteristics:

- No Pendrives will be received as a means of transferring the requested material and no devices will be returned in case they are received.

- All short films selected for the official competition agree to use the Vive Soundtrack Festival logo and graphics.

- The festival will not communicate individually to the non-selected participants. The official shortlist will be published on our official website, in our own media and social networks.

- The Director of the winning short film of the official competition will be invited to the Festival in person. The organisation undertakes to pay for his or her accommodation and transport, as long as he or she does not live in the Metropolitan Region of Santiago de Chile, which he or she must prove with a certificate of residence from his or her region or country.

4 - The Jury
- Our jury will be made up of professionals from the world of film, criticism, communication, music and teaching.

- The jury's decision for the official short film competition will be final.

- The jury of our festival is committed to awarding the following prizes:

● FIC Vive Award for the Best Science Fiction Short Film (200 USD + Trophy + Diploma).
● FIC Vive Award to the Short Film with the Best Soundtrack (200 USD + Trophy + Diploma).

- The results and prizes will be awarded at the closing ceremony of the Festival.

5 - Material and Rights

- The pieces or copies selected in the official competition will not be returned and will be part of the festival's archive and the organisation's private video library. If the director or producer of the short film so requests, it may be removed from our archive. During our promotion of the Vive Soundtrack Virtual Festival, we will take all the winning or relevant short films on a Tour to bring people closer to cinema and soundtracks, with an educational and non-profit purpose that brings culture to corners where it is not, with the aim of guaranteeing free access for all.


6 - Acceptance of the rules

- By submitting their entries to the call for entries for the official competition of the festival, all participants accept these rules of participation in their entirety. Declaring and effectively authorising the public communication of the work during the period and location of the virtual and physical edition of the Vive Soundtrack Festival in accordance with the Chilean Law No 17.336 on Intellectual Property. The applicant of the entry to the competition of the festival declares and acknowledges that in the event that his or her piece compromises, affects or includes partially or totally works protected by national or international legislation on Intellectual Property, where the copyright holders are persons other than the applicant of the project, the latter has the express authorisation to use the work by the copyright holder, thus complying with the stipulations of these rules and without prejudice to the exceptions provided for in Title III of the aforementioned law.


- All resolutions and/or modifications adopted by the organising committee on these rules or any aspect of them will be accepted.
