Calling all filmmakers! Submit your film to Zimbabwe's biggest, fastest growing film festival. The theme for the 16th edition of the International Images Film Festival for Women (IIFF) is OF WOMEN, BY WOMEN FOR THE PEOPLE.

IIFF is an internationally recognised festival held to inspire positive images of women, interrogate, debate and celebrate the world of women, as well as the communities that women live in through films that exhibit gender sensitive narratives.

We are looking for films that;
-show women's contribution to a better society and world
-engage with global issues and how they affect women
-show men help women
-focus on the journey of African women
-are about allies for African and African diaspora women.

1.WORLD VIEW
Presented for the most progressive film that in the judgment of the jury offesr local viewers an opportunity to see the world outside the one in which they live.

2. WALTER MUPARUTSA PRIZE FOR THE BEST FILM IN THE NEW MAN Presened in honour of Zimbabwean theatre icon to the best film that portrays most positively relationships and collaboration of men with women.

3. BEST SADC FILM
Presented to the best Southern African Development Community film at IIFF, the award was introduced to motivate filmmakers from Southern Africa to produce international standard product that refects the spirit of IIFF.

4. BEST AFRICAN
Preented to the Best African film at IIFF thatadequately portrays the spirit of the festival

5. AUDIENCE PRIZE

Presented to the film that IIFF audiences have judged to best reflect the spirit of IIFF.
6. BEST SHORT
Presented to the best short film at IIFF that adequately reflects the spirit of IIFF.

7. BEST DOCUMENTARY
The award is given to a documentary film in the festival competition that most aptly captures the essence of women who have remained alive against all odds in a powerful and engaging way.

8. BEST SCRIPT
Presented for the most skillful writing in a feature film that adequately portays the spirit of IIFF. Entries are judged based upon the following criteria Concept, Presentation, Structure, Plot, Pacing, Characters, Dialogue, Theme, Style, Overall Quality of Screenplay.

9. BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY
Presented to the film whose photography best enhances the story and conveys it to the audience through use of the visual medium.

10. BEST ACTRESS
Presented to the film whose lead actress most skillfully captures the essence of her character.

11. BEST DIRECTOR
Presented to the director who most perfectly captures the essence of woman in the direction of the film.

12. BEST DEPICTION OF A WOMAN
This prize is awarded to the film that best captures a woman's journey

13. BEST FILM
This award goes to the best film that most adequaely captures the spirit of IIF in portraying the journeys, triumphs and challenges of women.
ZIMBABWEAN SECTION

14. BEST SOUND FOR ZIMBABWEAN FILM
presented to the Zimbabwean film that best captures the spirit of IIFF that has the best sound.
15. BEST ZIMBABWEAN DOCUMENTARY

Presented to the best Zimbabwean documentary that reflects the spirit of IIFF.

16. BEST ZIMBABWEAN FILM
Presented for the best imbabwean film that most adequately refelcts the spirit of IIFF.

Submission requirements

-Completed entry form.

-A password protected preview of the film (Vimeo link or dropbox).

-Digital press kit. The press kit should include three high resolution colour stills, full cast/crew list, directors statement, film synopsis. Posters are welcome but cannot be substituted for stills.

-Please email all materials to wfoz@icapatrust.org or upload them to Festhome. Be sure to activate your press kit on Festhome.

Entry Requirements

-Films must not be available on the internet.

-Films should not have been premiered or screened in Zimbabwe.

-Films must have been produced between January 2014 and May 2017.

-All non-English language films must have legible English subtitles.

-You may submit through Festhome or submit a completed submission form to wfoz@icapatrust.org.
